    • Liner conversion apparatus adapted to convert a flexible liner (2), including a layer of composite material (3), into a structural member within a duct (1) comprising a front portion (6) adapted to be inserted in the liner (2), a central portion (7) having heating means (8) on one side of the layer of composite material (3), and a rear portion (10) having consolidation means (11) for forcing the heated composite material (3) towards the duct (1), the central portion (7) adapted to force hot gas from the heating means (8) through the layer of composite material (3) to heat it, and provide an air gap (14) on the opposite side of the layer (3), and to have a further heating means (43), which substantially surrounds the heating means (8) and is on an opposite side of the composite layer (3). The further heating means (43) aids the distribution of heat through the layer (3), so that the side of the layer (3) remote from the heating means (8) is heated sufficiently.

    • A flow measurement apparatus is disclosed, and method of measuring flow. The apparatus comprises a flow measurement apparatus comprising: a channel (1) along which the overall rate of flow of fluid is to be measured, a bluff element (7) positioned in the channel (1) which presents an obstruction to the flow of fluid in the channel (1), the bluff element (7) generating vortices in the fluid downstream of the bluff element (7), a transmitter (9) which transmits radiation onto a portion of the surface (8) of the fluid downstream of the bluff element (7), a receiver (9) which is adapted to produce an output signal dependent upon a portion of the transmitted radiation which is reflected from the surface (8) of the fluid downstream of the bluff element (7) onto the receiver (9), and processing means (23) adapted to process the output signal to produce a flow rate signal indicative of the overall rate of flow of fluid along the channel (1).
