    • The present invention relates to coils of a transformer, and particularly to a modular coil of a transformer with a locking means and to a transformer with the coil. A coil (100, 1801, 1802) for a transformer with a plurality of coil segments (102) of a modular type and a locking means (700) is provided. Each coil segment (102) is electrically connected to another coil segment (102) of the plurality of coil segments (102) forming a coil segment stack (100), the stack (100) defining a stack axis (A), or in other words the coil (100, 1801, 1802). The locking means (700) is adapted for preventing rotation of adjacent coil segments (102) of the plurality of coil segments (102) thereby enabling a stable coil (100, 1801, 1802) and an easy stacking of the plurality of coil segments (102). The locking means (700) comprises a snap-fit connection (901) arranged at adjacent coil segments (102) of the plurality of coil segments (102).
