    • An expandable stent (200) for use in a body vessel comprises a thin- walled tubular framework (205) including two or more circumferentially adjacent end members (210) extending in a longitudinal direction from an end of the framework. In a delivery configuration of the tubular framework, the end members have an interlocking configuration. Each end member has a first interlocking side (235) and a second interlocking side (240), where the first interlocking side has a circumf erentially directed protrusion (225) and the second interlocking side has a circumferentially directed recess (230). The protrusion of a first end member mates with the recess of a second end member. In an expanded configuration of the tubular framework, the end members are disengaged from the interlocking configuration. Each end member may be an eyelet (215) including an opening for a radiopaque rivet. A method of preparing the expandable stent for delivery into a body vessel is also described.

    • An implantable medical support frame (104) having a central longitudinally extending axis is expandable from a collapsed configuration having a first diameter to an expanded configuration having a second diameter. The frame also includes an anchoring mechanism with an elongate member (110). At least a portion of the elongate member is slidably disposed within a retaining structure when the frame is in the collapsed configuration. When the frame expands from the collapsed configuration to the expanded configuration, a portion of the elongate member is advanced out of the retaining structure such that the portion of the elongate member protrudes radially outward of the frame at an angle to the axis, thereby forming an anchor. A length of the protruding portion of the anchor increases as the frame expands from the collapsed configuration to the expanded configuration.

    • A stent (20) for use in a medical procedure that comprises a series of proximal apices (22a, 22b) disposed at a proximal end (22) of the stent and a series of distal apices (62a, 62b) disposed at a distal end (24) of the stent. A trigger wire (84) is arranged to be coupled to at least one of the proximal apices (22a, 22b) to restrain the proximal end of the stent (22) during delivery. In a first embodiment, a first proximal apex comprises a bore (31) for receiving the trigger wire (84), and a second proximal apex, disposed adjacent to the first proximal apex, comprises at least one barb (42). The trigger wire (84) therefore is only coupled to selected ones of the proximal apices. In another embodiment, a first proximal apex comprises a first bore (31) and a second, adjacent proximal apex comprises a second bore (41 ), such that a single trigger wire (84) may be disposed through the first and second bores to restrain the first and second proximal apices during delivery.
