    • In order to overcome problems of data corruption, particularly power down situations in automotive applications occuring during a write operation, the invention provides a section of electronically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM), means for programming the EEPROM including means for transforming input data into specific codes of a code set, each code of the set having the same number of data bits and the same predetermined number of data bits of one logical state, means for writing the codes representing the input data into the EEPROM, and means for reading the codes stored in EEPROM including means for checking said codes for data corruption by determining whether said codes contain said predetermined number.

    • This invention relates to elastomeric seating members and an assembly incorporating the same particularly for solenoid coils of solenoid valves in ABS systems. The elastomeric seal (40) in accordance with the invention provides a moisture resistant seal between a first housing (24) in which first members such as the solenoid coils (26) are mounted and a second housing (48) in which electronic means such as the electronic control circuitry (38) for the solenoid valves is mounted. The elastomeric seating member is mounted within a bore (32, 32a) communicating between the first and second housings and provides a seat for the solenoid coils and is arranged to permit the solenoid coils a limited amount of movement so that when the first housing is mounted on a valve block (20) comprising switch parts (30) of the solenoid valve, the elastomeric seating member permits the movement of the solenoids for alignement with the switch parts (30). The solenoid coils are coupled to the electronic circuitry in the second housing by way of wires (34) which extend from the solenoid coils through a bore (50) in the elastomeric seating member. The wires are electrically coupled to contacts on integral flexible finger portions (46) of a circuit board containing the electronic circuitry.

    • A microcontroller fail-safe system includes a primary microprocessor (20) coupled to a bus (80), and arranged for processing unprocessed signals received from the bus (80) and for providing primary processed signals. A delay arrangement (210) delays the unprocessed and the processed signals by a predetermined period, to provide delayed signals. A secondary microprocessor (120) is arranged for processing the delayed unprocessed signals and for providing secondary processed signals. A comparing arrangement (210) compares the delayed primary processed signals and secondary processed signals such that the compared signals are synchronised through having experienced the same delay.
