摘要： A heat exchanger assembly, by means of which compressed charge air for an internal combustion engine is cooled by way of a liquid, includes a housing with a heat exchanger that has a stack of pairs of plates and fins which are arranged between the pairs, and has two longitudinal sides and two transverse sides. Flow plates are arranged in the plate pairs and, toward the longitudinal sides, expose in each case one edge channel within the plate pairs. An inlet and an outlet are connected to the edge channels, and a liquid flows through the flow plates between the edge channels, the liquid flowing in counterflow with respect to the charge air which flows in on one side of the housing, through the fins, and leaves the housing again on an opposite other side.

摘要： A number of flat tubes, flat tube heat exchangers, and methods of manufacturing both are described and illustrated. The flat tubes can be constructed of one, two, or more pieces of sheet material. A profiled insert integral with the flat tube or constructed from another sheet of material can be used to define multiple flow channels through the flat tube. The flat tubes can be constructed of relatively thin material, and can be reinforced with folds of the flat tube material and/or of an insert in areas subject to higher pressure and thermal stresses. Also, the relatively thin flat tube material can have a corrosion layer enabling the material to resist failure due to corrosion. Heat exchangers having such flat tubes connected to collection tubes are also disclosed, as are manners in which such tubes can be provided with fins.

摘要： A coolant conditioning system is provided for supplying a coolant flow to a fuel processing subsystem. The coolant conditioning system includes a coolant preheater to transfer heat from a reformate flow to the coolant flow, a heater to5selectively add heat to the coolant flow in response to the coolant flow dropping below a minimum temperature, at least one outlet flow path to provide a portion of the coolant flow to at least one fuel processing subsystem, and a return flow path to return a remainder of the coolant flow to a storage tank. The coolant conditioning system is dynamically controllable to provide a portion of the coolant flow above a minimum temperature to reduce or prevent condensation of the reformate flow in selected components of the fuel processing subsystem that receive the portion of the coolant flow.

摘要： A reformate cooling system is provided for use in a fuel processing subsystem including a process water flow that supplies water to a fuel flow at various locations in the fuel processing subsystem. The reformate cooling system includes a heat exchanger capable of completely vaporizing a portion of the process water flow while bringing the reformat and the portion of the process water flow to a common exit temperature. The common exit temperature is dynamically controllable to a desired temperature range for optimal removal of carbon monoxide from the reformate flow. The portion of the process water flow is recombined with a remainder of the process water to be utilized as steam and/or water in the fuel processing subsystem.

摘要： A heat exchange system for cooling a fluid to be supplied to a component of a power-train system of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle defines a plurality of surfaces upon which air impinges by forward movement of the vehicle. In some embodiments, the heat exchange system including a housing, a fan coupled to the housing and having an axis of rotation, and a heat exchanger within the housing and located outside of a flow of air generated by forward movement of the vehicle. The heat exchanger can include a number of tubes through which the fluid flows, and a number of fins between the tubes and through which air moved by the fan flows. The tubes and fins can lie substantially in a common plane oriented at an oblique angle with respect to the axis of rotation of the fan.
