    • This invention concerns a device for qualitative and/or quantitative detection of analytes, particularly in an also biological test sample, by means of ligand-receptor bonds with a magnetizing device for producing field at the site of the test sample and with a detection device for measuring magnetic properties of the test sample. This device is characterized by the fact that the magnetizing device (11', 11'') is arranged spacially with respect to the detection device (71, 8, 9, 10; 16; 20), such that the magnetic field produced by the magnetizing device (11', 11'') at the site which the test sample occupies during measurement is weakened by at least a factor of 10, preferably by a factor of 1000 or more, or by the fact that a switching device is provided which can turn off the magnetic field of the magnetizing device (11; 21) at the site of the test sample (12) for a pre-set period, particularly during the measurement phase of the detection device (71, 8, 9, 10; 16; 20). This permits new kinds of processes for magneto-relaxometric detection of analytes to be carried out or for detection of analytes by means of remanence measurement, routinely and economically in vitro or in vivo.
