摘要： A system for storing data on a magnetic medium (140) using spin polarized electron beams is provided. The system includes a source (110) of spin polarized electrons and a storage medium (140) disposed a selected distance from the source. The storage medium has a plurality of storage locations (160), each of which includes a layer of magnetic material sandwiched between first and second layers of a half-metallic material. The resulting sandwich structure forms a spin dependent electron trap that increases coupling between beam electrons in a first spin state and target electrons in a second spin state. An electron optics system (120) directs the source of spin polarized electrons to one of the plurality of storage locations.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to a process for preparing an alkylated triiodo-substituted arylamide, such as iodixanol, the process comprising contacting a triiodo-substituted arylamide, such as 5-acetamido-N,N'-bis(2,3-dihydroxylpropyl)-2,4,6-triiodoisophthalamide, and an alkylating agent in the presence of a base and a mixed solvent system comprising a non-aqueous solvent and water, wherein the volume ratio of the non-aqueous solvent to water is greater than 1:1. The process advantageously enables the concentration of any impurities or undesirable byproduct from the reaction to be reduced, while increasing the yield of the desired reaction product.

摘要： The present invention relates to a novel inhibitor of histamine release, designed HRIF which is believed to represent a promising therapeutic agent for treatment of basophil and mast cell dependent disorders, including allergic diseases. This inhibitor is a human cytokine that antagonizes a human histamine releasing cytokine(s) designated HRF. HRIF has a molecular weight of about 8,000 to 10,000 daltons as determined by gel exclusion chromatography and has also been purified by ion exchange chromatography. HRIF is stable when heated at 60 DEG C for one hour, when frozen and thawed four times, and when treated with neuraminidase. Treatment with trypsin or chymotrypsin substantially destroys the activity of HRIF. The present invention includes compositions comprising substantially purified HRIF as well as methods for HRIF production and use. The invention also includes HRIF-producing cell lines and methods for producing such cell lines.
