    • A rotary gate valve, in particular for servo-assisted steering systems in motor vehicles, has a rotary distributor (2) which can rotate in a control bush (1). The control bush (1) and the rotary distributor (2) are provided with longitudinal control grooves (3, 4, 7, 8) which co-operate to control the flow of a hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic fluid reservoir to and from a servo motor. Co-operating control edges (5, 10 and 6, 11, respectively) of the longitudinal control grooves (3, 4, 7, 8) of the control bush (1) and rotary distributor (2) are arranged parallel to each other. The control edges (5, 6) of the longitudinal control grooves (3, 4) of the control bush (1) and the control edges (10, 11) of the rotary distributor (2) are disposed conically with respect to each other in their longitudinal direction. To assemble the rotary gate valve, the control bush (1) and the rotary distributor (2) are first moved axially relative to each other into a position in which the valve characteristic curve adopts its ideal position in the tolerance field of the valve characteristic curves and the control bush (1) and the rotary distributor (2) are then fixed in their axially facing positions.

    • In a power-assisted rack and pinion steering system designed especially for motor vehicles, a pinion (2) fitted in a steering box (1) engages with a rack (6). To provide power assistance there is a servo-motor (8), the piston rod (10) of which is operationally connected with the rack (6). A control device (18) to control a pressure medium to and from the servo-motor can be adjusted dependently upon a movement of the pinion (2). Both working chambers (12, 13) of the servo-motor (8) are connected to the control device (18) via working lines (14, 15) which are connected to a cylinder (11) of the servo-motor (8) and the control device (18) via two connectors (24, 25). Each working line (14, 15), besides a pressure line (26) from a servo-pump (21) and a return line (27) to a container (23), has a collar (32). Each line is held to the connector (24, 25) by a retaining clasp (34) surrounding the collar (32). For securing purposes, a tab-like extension to the retaining clasp (34) is elastically or plastically deformed after fitting.

    • In the proposed rack and pinion power steering gear system, which is intended in particular for motor vehicles, a pinion (2) mounted in a steering gear housing (1) meshes with a toothed rack (6). A servo-motor (8) is provided for power assistance, the piston rod (10) of the servo-motor being connected to the toothed rack (6) so as to drive it. The two working chambers (12, 13) of the servo-motor (8) are connected to a control device (18) via main lines (14, 15) which are connected to a cylinder (11) of the servo-motor (8) and to the control device (18) via two connecting elements (24, 25). Each main line (14, 15) has a collar (32). Each line is held on the connecting element (24, 25) by a holding clasp (34) which surrounds the collar (32). The holding clasp (34) has a substantially rectangular and smooth base (35). The base (35) has a longitudinal slit (36) open to one side, through which the holding clasp (34) can be pushed from the side over the line (14, 15) and the connecting element (24, 25). The holding clasp (34) also has two extensions (38) with edge beading projecting from the base (35), these extensions lying substantially parallel to the longitudinal sides of the longitudinal slit (36). The extensions (38) are designed to exert spring pressure both in the direction perpendicular to the base (35) and in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal sides of the longitudinal slit (36).

    • A centring device for steering valves comprises a torsion bar (1) firmly secured at one end-piece (1A) to a drive shaft (3) and at another endpiece (1B) to a drive shaft (4). As the torsion bar (1) cannot provide exact centring between a rotary valve (3A) and a valve bush (6), a fine-centring system is provided. The fine-centring system consists of a tubular end-piece (7) secured to the drive shaft and bearing a metal bellows (8) and a centring member (10) connected thereto. The centring member (10) is axially prestressed by the metal bellows (8) and presses against another centring member (14) via rollers (12). The centring member (14) is, according to the invention, part of an inner race (15) of a needle-roller bearing (16) which is pressed on the end piece (1B) of the torsion bar (2) connected to the drive shaft (3). The centring members (10, 14) have oblique surface grooves (11, 13) which generate a centring force via the rollers when the two shafts (3, 4) are mutually rotated.
