摘要： An apparatus for performing a medical procedure in the vasculature comprises an inflatable perfusion balloon including a passage for transmitting fluid in an inflated condition of the balloon. A metal or wire mesh is positioned along or over at least a portion of the inflatable balloon. The mesh may allow fluid to flow through the wire mesh into the passage when the balloon is inflated. The mesh may comprise a wire sock or sleeve, and may comprise a shape memory material, such as Nitinol. Related methods are also disclosed.

摘要： A carrying platform for moving a device within a lumen, comprising a plurality of clampers configured to releasably engage the lumen for immobilizing the carrying platform relative to the lumen, and a device engagement mechanism configured to releasably engage the device. The device is preferably a catheter or an endoscope, and the lumen is preferably a biological lumen. The clampers each comprise an inflatable balloon or arms configured to engage the lumen. The device engagement mechanism comprises at least a set of wheels, or grippers each comprise a sleeve made of a shape memory material, a sleeve actuated by wire to grip the elongate device, or a balloon configured to grip the device when inflated. The forward and backward locomotion of the carrying platform through a lumen is carried out by a sequential inflation and deflation of inflatable balloons and an alternate engagement of a front gripper and a rear gripper to the device.

The substantially U- shaped cannula has a first section of formable tubing (8) then extends from the U-shaped cannula across the patient's cheek around the side of the face and over the patient's ear. A second section of formable tubing (10) extends over the ear and a coiled section of tubing then extends downward to the patient's shoulder where a clip (15) located near the coiled section of flexible tubing may be used to attach the coiled section of flexible tubing to the patient's clothing. A stabilization patch (17 or 18) further secures the tubing to the cheek and/or behind the ear of the patient.

The device includes an endotracheal tube having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The device may include a sealant composition in contact with the exterior surface of the endotracheal tube; and a temperature control element in contact with the endotracheal tube. The device may include an actively-controllable anchoring cuff comprising two or more inflatable balloons configured to contact the exterior surface of the endotracheal tube and configured to contact the trachea of a mammalian subject, a pressure sensor configured to detect pressure of one or more of the inflatable balloons; and a controller in communication with the pressure sensor. The device may include one or more closed cell layers in contact with the exterior surface and circumferentially surrounding one or more longitudinal portion of the endotracheal tube.
