Besides the hydro station (12) consists of electric motor (13) joined to hydraulic pump (14) the inlet pipe of which is submerged into the tank of hydraulic liquid and the outlet pipe is connected to the valve (15) which in turn is connected with hydraulic cylinder (5). Also the emergency braking mechanism (17) consists of a housing (18) onto the axle of which two pulleys are mounted one of them being eccentric 19 with a fixed rod (20) while the other pulley (21) is with two hooks (22) fixed on the opposite sides of the pulley on axles with the possibility of rotation.

    • An improved balanced actuating device for lifting and/or transport apparatuses comprises a supporting frame (3) having support means (4) for an external load (L), guide means (5) associated with the frame (3) for guiding the support means (4) along a predetermined drive direction (X), drive means (6) operating on the support means (4) for moving them along the guide means (5) for a predetermined stroke (c) between a first and a second end position (A, B).     • The elevator alert includes an elevator pit can (10) and a float switch (240) disposed therein. The float switch (240) produces an alarm-activating signal when the pit can (10) is nearly full and overflow of oil into the pit is imminent. An alarm control unit (200) takes alarm-activating signals from one or more float switch-equipped pit cans (10) to operate a relay (405a, 405b) to drive various kinds of alarms and/or elevator controls. A loudspeaker (210) on the pit can (10) emits an audible alarm when the float switch (240) is closed. A light (805) on the pit can (10) emits a visual alert when the float switch (240) is closed. Optionally, a remote alarm (300) is provided, the remote alarm (300) being activated when the remote alarm float switch (250) is closed. Users of the elevator, such as passenger or building occupants, would hear the audible alarm and call maintenance to thereby prevent an oil spill. The device can be retrofit to existing elevator pit cans.

    • There is described an elevator construction comprising a cabin and a piston and cylinder arrangement attached thereto, the cabin being adapted to move within an elevator shaft. The invention provides much greater control over elevator movement, and precludes the design emphasis on strut buckling, necessary in prior art designs in which the arrangement was mounted beneath the cabin and thus supported same in compression.
