摘要： The present invention provides a functional fluid suitable for use in an internal combustion engine, comprising: (a) a major amount of a base fluid; (b) a minor amount of a polysubstituted alkanol amine derivative reaction product obtainable by reacting: (i) a carboxylate compound of formula (I) R 1 COOR 2 in which: R 1 is an aliphatic C 1-30 -hydrocarbon radical; and R 2 is hydrogen or alkyl, mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl, or ammonium; with (ii) an alkanol amine of the formula (II) NHR 3 R 4, , wherein R 3 and R 4 are independently selected from hydrogen atoms and linear or branched-chain hydrocarbon groups, the carbon chain of which is optionally interrupted by one or more -NH- groups and which optionally has at least one hydroxyl group attached to a carbon atom of the hydrocarbon group, with the proviso that R 3 and R 4 are not both hydrogen atoms and that at least one of said residues R 3 and R 4 carries at least one hydroxyl group; in a molar ratio of the -COO- groups of the carboxylate compound of formula (I) to the molar sum of OH and NH groups of the alkanol amine of formula (II) in a range and under reaction conditions supporting the formation of a reaction product comprising polysubstituted alkanol amine derivatives; and (c) a minor amount of a detergent additive.

摘要： This invention relates to a lubricant composition for two-cycle engines comprising: a major amount of at least one oil of lubricating viscosity which is free of oils having a viscosity greater than or equal to 100 cSt at 40 DEG C, an amount sufficient to reduce or prevent piston scuffing of a mixture of (A) at least one phenol selected from (A-1) an aminophenol and (A-2) a reaction product of a nitrophenol and an amino compound, and (B) at least one ashless dispersant. The compositions may also include up to about 10 % by weight of (C) at least one polyalkene having a number average molecular weight from about 500 to about 2500. Since lubricant compositions for two-cycle engines are often mixed with fuels before or during combustion, Applicants' invention also includes fuel-lubricant mixtures. Applicants have discovered that the above compositions of the present invention act to control piston scuffing while also contributing to piston lubrication, deposit control, ring stick protection, reduced exhaust port blockage and reduced visible smoke emission. In another embodiment of the invention, the lubricant compositions are free of isostearic acid, or derivatives thereof.

In one embodiment, components (A) and (B) are present in amounts sufficient to provide total intake system cleanliness. Methods for providing total intake system cleanliness and preventing or reducing the formation of intake valve deposits or removing same, are disclosed.
