    • Oil emerging from a storage tank and containing all forms of pollution is placed in extensive surface contact with an underlying washing liquid having a greater specific gravity, on to which it diffuses, gives up to it material soluble therein and, in the absence turbulent flows causes solid particles to sink into it after which it rises up and makes room for newly-arriving contaminated oil. This process is supported by its performance in the boiler chamber so that the oil is heated during the operation; in addition, this heating reduces viscosity and leads to improved atomization in the burner. The device (1) consists of a vessel, closed off by an inspection window not illustrated, said vessel having an inner chamber (2) containing, up to its surface (7), the washing liquid (5) i.e. water with or without additives; the oil enters through an inlet port (3) and emerges from the vessel at the top through a discharge opening (4).

    • The present invention pertains to a filter for the removal of water from oil, the filter comprising a distillation element having an inlet pipe that in one end is to be fluidly connectable to a reservoir of oil to be filtered, and in the other end being fluidly connected to a distillation head, said distillation head comprising a plurality of compressing tubes for injecting under pressure said oil into an evaporation chamber, whereby eventual water within the oil droplet evaporates from said decompressed oil, the filter further comprising a tubular core with a plurality of apertures and a hollow interior, said core having an open end for fluid communication with the hollow interior, a length of yarn wound around an outer surface of the core, wherein the filter further comprises means for blowing air or an inert gas into the evaporation chamber for removal of the water vapor during use of the filter. The present invention also pertains to a method of manufacturing such a filter, as well as a method of removing water oil. The water removal unit is part of a modular system, which makes the whole filter unit scalable within fixed steps. When water removing block (105) with attached start block (89) and end block (72), are stacked upon each other, and connected to filter unit (27), it becomes scalable complete cleaning equipment. Pump and motor must be adapted to each configuration.
