摘要： The invention relates to a system and a method for creating an ambient experience for a person, particularly for a patient to be examined in a medical imaging device having a bore into which a patient table can be moved. In a preferred embodiment, the system comprises a display (30) for displaying an image content such as a video for the relaxation of a patient, and an illumination device (40) for illuminating the surroundings with polarized light. Moreover, it comprises a viewing aid, particularly a pair of glasses (20), that is designed to at least partially block light from the illumination device (40) while letting light from the display (30) pass. The viewing aid (20) may for example comprise a polarization filter (23) that lets linearly polarized light (λ D ) from the display (30) pass while blocking light from the illumination device (40) that is polarized in a perpendicular direction. A patient on the patient table can thus view the display (30) without being disturbed by an illumination of the surroundings.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention address the problems with previously known MRI enhancement resonators. The embodiments provide capacitances that are sufficiently large to result in resonance frequencies that are sufficiently low for medical MRI applications in devices that are sufficiently small for implantation into the body. Further, the capacitance and resonance frequency of the MRI enhancement resonator may be easily adjusted to particular desired values by selecting corresponding thin-film dielectrics, or thicknesses of such thin-film dielectrics. Moreover, the design and geometry of the embodiments provide MRI enhancement resonators with high Q-factors. The construction and material of such MRI enhancement resonators also yield flexible and biocompatible devices that are appropriate for applications involving implantation into the body.

摘要： Techniques for correcting gradient non-linearity bias in mean diffusivity measurements by MRI systems are shown and include minimal number of spatial correction terms to achieve sufficient error control using three orthogonal diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) gradients. The correction is based on rotation of system gradient nonlinearity tensor into a DWI gradient frame where spatial bias of b-matrix is described by its Euclidian norm. The techniques obviate time consuming multi-direction acquisition and noise-sensitive mathematical diagonalization of a full diffusion tensor for medium of arbitrary anisotropy.

With the inventive method, nuclei with a long longitudinal relaxation time T1 can be quickly hyperpolarized to a high polarization level.

摘要： MR imaging and intervention functions are localized within a single device. At least one integrated coil device (62,63,64,90) which has at least one RF coil (72,94,112,118), a housing (70,74,92,96,110,114) which encases the RF coil and provides an anatomically conformal surface, and a plurality of apertures. The integrated coil device slides along a guide rail system(66) to adjust the size of a patient anatomical imaging region (60). The apertures in the integrated coil device are available to secure tool holder grid plate inserts (67,116,130,131) or other interventional device guides. The inserts assist in holding the soft tissue for diagnostic imaging and provide support for biopsy/interventional instrument guides(140). The integrated MR imaging and interventional coil device works in combination with a prone patient support structure(20), an adaptive torso sling(55), and also features an open architecture design for improved patient access. The device also works for supine or side imaging procedures.
