摘要： A data acquisition device includes measuring instruments to generate physiological and/or psychological data streams. Microprocessors within the acquisition device process the generated data streams into metrics, which feed into stress function algorithms. Algorithm processing may occur either on the device, or metrics may be communicated via wireless communication for external processing on mobile devices and/or cloud-based platforms. The calculated stress functions inform cloud-based computational systems biology-derived models describing the dynamics of hormones and neurotransmitters released in the body in response to stressful stimuli. Stress hormone levels are quantified using these models, and are used in combination to serve as biologically inspired metrics of acute and chronic stress an individual is experiencing.

摘要： An ADL monitoring system uses a set of sensors each adapted to respond to an activity and to generate a sensor output signal representative of the detected activity level or type. An activity density map is formed. The activity level or type is compared with a range of activity levels or types represented in a map which characterized a reference spread of activity levels over the same time period as the activity density map. A probability analysis is then used to identify initial anomaly points. For these the initial anomaly points, a test of activity permutations is carried out to find timeslots in the activity density map which may be reordered to remove the initial anomaly points. In this way, anomalies at the level of individual timeslots can be identified, and the permutation approach makes the system robust to changes in the order in which activities are carried out by a subject.

A representative system comprises first and second wearable apparatuses to be worn on the user's left and right sides, and any of several types of central vital signs monitors. Another representative system is a handheld, singular apparatus to be held in both hands by the user. Another representative system comprises first and second wearable apparatuses without any additional central vital signs monitor. The various embodiments measure a differential pulse arrival time of left and right arterial pressure waves using corresponding determined features, such as a foot or systolic peak, and using the measured differential pulse arrival time and calibration data, determine at least one physiological parameter such as blood pressure, heart rate, stroke rate, and cardiac output.

摘要： A patient monitoring system to help manage a patient that is at risk of forming one or more pressure ulcers is disclosed. The system includes a patient-worn wireless sensor that senses the patient's orientation and wirelessly transmits information indicative of the sensed orientation to a patient monitor. The patient monitor receives, stores, and processes the transmitted information. It also displays and transmits information indicative of the patient's orientation to help caregivers manage the patient's risk of formation of one or more pressure ulcers. The system can identify the present orientation of the patient and determine how long the patient has been in the present orientation. If the patient remains in an orientation beyond a predefined duration, the system can notify the patient and/or caretakers that the patient is due to be repositioned.

摘要： A method and corresponding apparatus employ a time-varying spectral analysis approach for reconstructing a heart-related signal that includes motion artifacts. The motion artifacts are produced by motion of a biomedical sensor relative to a sensing location. By comparing time-varying spectra of the heart-related signal and a motion signal, those frequency peaks resulting from the motion artifacts may be suppressed in a time-varying spectrum of the heart-related signal. The time-varying spectral analysis based approach enables the heart-related signal to be reconstructed with accuracy by suppressing the motion artifacts. Example applications for the method and corresponding apparatus include training aids (e.g., runners' heart-rate monitors) and hospital patient heart-rate monitors.
