    • The invention concerns a system for controlling units disposed in a motor vehicle drive train. The vehicle further comprises electrically actuated wheel brakes, preferably designed with one or two motors. Control devices are provided which control or regulate the functions of at least one of the units disposed in the drive train and/or the function of the wheel brakes, and, in reaction to a delivered signal, influence the potential of at least one of these units. At least one electrical energy storage device is operatively connected to the electrically actuated wheel brakes in order to supply energy. The essence of the invention is that diagnostic devices are provided which determine the potential of at least one of the energy storage devices. The diagnostic devices then generate the signal as a function of the determined potential of at least one of the energy storage devices, such that the potential of at least one of the units disposed in the drive train is adapted in a manner oriented to driving safety to the determined potential of at least one of the energy storage devices, and/or the function of the wheel brakes is influenced in order to generate a predetermined braking effect.
