    • An apparatus for transporting a load onto a raised surface includes: a frame; and rear, middle, and front wheel assemblies coupled to the frame. Each wheel assembly includes: at least one leg, at least one wheel rotatingly coupled to the leg for rollingly supporting the frame, and at least one actuator operatively coupled to the at least one leg. The front wheel assembly is configured to extend forwardly from, and retract rearwardly toward, the frame. The actuators are configured to independently raise and lower the at least one rear, middle, and front wheel. A load support member is located below the frame and moveable between a first position where the centre of gravity of the load is located rearward of an axis defined by the at least one middle wheel, and a second position where the centre of gravity of the load is located forward of the axis.

    • An automatic tire loader/unloader for stacking/unstacking tires in a trailer is disclosed. In one embodiment, a mobile base structure provides a support framework for a drive subassembly, conveyance subassembly, an industrial robot, a distance measurement subassembly, and a control subassembly. Under the operation of the control subassembly, tires advance through a powered transportation path to an industrial robot which places the tires within the trailer in a vertical stacking pattern or a rick-stacking pattern, for example. The control subassembly coordinates the selective articulated movement of the industrial robot and the activation of the drive subassembly based upon the distance measurement subassembly detecting objects, including tires, within a detection space, dimensions of the trailer provided to the control subassembly, and dimensions of the tires provided to the control subassembly.

    • An attachment for skid steer loaders and the like which combines a forklift mast (14) with width adjustable rolling stabilizers (16, 18). The ground engaging rolling stabilizer caster wheels (50) are positioned to each side of the lifted load. The castering wheels (50) bear a large fraction of the weight of the lifted load as well as stabilizing the load while it is in motion over varying terrain. The rolling stabilizer lift (10) dramatically increase the weight lifting capacity and the height to which loads can be lifted beyond that of the loader alone. The rolling stabilizer lift (10) includes an automatic attachment adapter (210) adapted for coupling attachments to and uncoupling attachments from loader lift arms (218) without the need for the operator to exit the equipment or employ a helper. The automatic attachment adapter (210) employs a compact, lightweight, high strength latching device (232) to make connection between the attachment plate of the loader (216) and mounting plate (12) of the rolling stabilizer lift (10). By making use of interlocking rotating clevises (236, 238) the latching device is self-centering, requiring only approximate alignment to operate. Additionally, the latching mechanism (232) is self cleaning of debris which may interfere with its operation.
