    • An anchoring system (92), for transtibial and transfemoral prostheses, including a liner (10) and socket (12). The liner (10) envelopes the amputee limb and has upper and lower ends with attached straps (4, 6). The upper strap (4) includes a buckle (14) and the lower strap (6) includes mating sections of Velcro® (21, 22). The socket (12) includes upper and lower slots (16, 17) corresponding to the liner straps (4, 6). In use, the liner (10) is applied to the amputee limb and the limb is inserted into the socket (12) with the straps (4, 6) protruding through the corresponding slots (16, 17). The lower strap (6) is threaded up through the buckle (14) and looped downward. The lower strap (6) is pulled downward and using pulley action draws the limb into the socket (12). Once the limb is seated securely in the socket (12), the lower strap (6) is attached unto itself by the Velcro®. The foregoing forms a suspension which holds the prosthesis securely in place, and yet can easily be adjusted to reseat the limb.

    • In a first aspect the invention provides alignment apparatus (14) for a prosthesis comprising: a socket (15) for mounting on a residual limb (13) of a user (10) so as to provide a first longitudinal axis (L1) for a socket (15) when mounted on the residual limb; a pylon member (64) having a first end and a second end (72); the first end being linked by a coupling (16) to the socket (15); the second end (72) providing for direct, or indirect, linkage to a ground engageable member (71); the pylon member (64) having a second longitudinal axis (L2); the coupling (16) between the socket (15) and the pylon (64) provides for: angular adjustment for the first axis (L1) relative to the second axis (L2); clamping of the pylon (64) in a given angular alignment of the first axis (L1) and the second axis (L2); lateral displacement of the first axis (L1) relative to the second axis (L2) and clamping of the pylon (64) in a given lateral alignment of the first axis (L1) and the secons axis (L2). In a second aspect there is also provided a method of fabricating a prosthetic device and an alignment apparatus.

    • A covering for a prosthetic leg. The prosthetic leg is nominally adjusted for optimal performance while the user is wearing shoes. The covering is configured to cosmetically resemble skin, and to shield some or all of the prosthetic leg mechanical components from outside view, thus making the prosthetic leg resemble a natural leg. The covering is designed to enable a prosthetic leg wearer to walk without shoes in a manner that makes it look as if the wearer is walking barefoot. To avoid prosthetic leg misadjustment problems such as hyperextended knee or prosthetic posterior lean, the covering is further configured with one or more internal inserts designed to adjust the height of the prosthetic foot to compensate for the missing elevation caused by the missing shoe. The device may be further configured with one or more fasteners to facilitate rapid application and removal.

Das Haltemittel (3) weist ein durch den Prothesenträger handhabbares Bedienelement (3.1) auf, über das das Haltemittel (3) lösbar ist, sodass ausgehend von der Position L das Innenrohr (2) in axialer Richtung zur Längsachse a relativ zum Außenrohr (1) in zumindest eine Position K stufenlos verschiebbar und damit die Beinprothese verkürzbar ist und durch Aufbringen einer am Innenrohr (2) und/oder am Außenrohr (1) angreifenden, in axialer Richtung wirkenden Kraft F das Innenrohr (2) ausgehend von der Position K in axialer Richtung zur Längsachse a relativ zum Außenrohr (1) verschiebbar und damit die Beinprothese stufenlos verlängerbar ist, wobei das Innenrohr (2) und das Außenrohr (1) über das Haltemittel (3) in axialer Richtung zur Längsachse a nur in der Position L automatisch über das Haltemittel (3) festsetzbar sind.
