摘要： The invention provides transition metal substituted polyoxofluorometallates, a process for their preparation, and a process for the catalytic epoxidation of an alkene comprising contacting a transition metal substituted polyoxofluorometallate and molecular oxygen with said alkene. The process for the preparation of the polyoxofluorometallates comprises two steps: 1) preparing an aquozincopolytungstopolyfluorosodate and 2) replacing the zinc by addition of a transition metal salt (e.g. salts of Ni, Co, Ru, Mn, V). In examples aquoruthenopolytungstopolyfluorosodate (K9[NaH2Ru(H2O)W17F6055]) is prepared and used in the epoxidation reaction.

摘要： The present disclosure includes a system and method for the pro¬ duction of oxidized olefins. Two or more reactors include a number of reaction tubes each having a first surface defining a first side and a second surface defining a second of each of the tubes side are provided. A catalyst for catalytic oxidation of olefins can be located on the first side of the number of reaction tubes is included. A com¬ mon supply line supplies inlets to each reactor that provide a mixture comprising olefins and oxygen to the catalyst. Product outlet streams of each reactor receive at least the oxidized olefin product and are joined to a single product stream. Coolant fluid passes through the re¬ actors to remove heat from the number of reaction tubes and flows into a single coolant drum connected to the two or more reactors. The single coolant drum receives the coolant fluid from a number of coolant fluid outlet streams of each of the reactors. The single coolant drum supplies the coolant fluid at a common temperature to a num¬ ber of coolant fluid inlet streams of each reactor.

摘要： A two-stage, gas phase process for manufacturing alkylene glycol (e.g., ethylene glycol) from an alkene (e.g., ethylene), oxygen and water, the process comprising the steps of: (A) Contacting under gas phase, oxidation conditions gaseous alkene and oxygen over a heterogeneous oxidation catalyst to produce a gaseous oxidation product comprising alkylene oxide, water and unreacted alkene; (B) Contacting under gas phase, hydrolysis conditions the gaseous oxidation product of (A) with added water over a heterogeneous hydrolysis catalyst to produce a gaseous alkylene glycol and unreacted alkene; and (C) Recycling the unreacted alkene of (B) to (A). The hydrolysis catalyst is selected from the group consisting of hydrotalcites, metal-loaded zeolites, phosphates, and metal-loaded ion-exchanged molecular sieves. The process improves over the conventional two-stage process by the elimination of steps and equipment to recover and refine alkylene oxide, the use of less water in the hydrolysis reaction, and the elimination of the entire evaporation train used in the recovery of alkylene glycol.
