    • An induction system for a supercharged internal V-type combustion engine includes a monolithic continuous unitary casting housing a supercharger with a rotor and gear assembly operative to discharge pressurized air to a common bounding receiving plenum, through a first slidably-removable intercooler providing a first cooling, and then to a pair of second side intercoolers providing a second cooling within the bounded plenum and in fluid communication therewith. First and second intercoolers are secured within the monolithic housing. The monolithic housing provides a robust and stable housing of light weight and allows an exterior air cooling as well. Side walls of the supercharger are separate from and are spaced from air intake runners of a cylinder block. Air in the plenum is additionally cooled by convective surface cooling while being guided in an appropriate direction. The intercoolers are plumbed in parallel allowing for enhanced temperature management of the air flow in combination with the convective cooling. The monolithic housing includes rib elements for sound attenuation and strength while minimizing weight. This arrangement allows for enhanced cooling, and simplifies manufacture and service.

    • A supercharger constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure can include a drive shaft, an input shaft, a first gear, a second gear, a first clutch and a second clutch. The second gear can have a different ratio than the first gear. The first clutch assembly can selectively couple rotatable input from the drive shaft to rotation of the input shaft through the first gear at the first drive ratio. The second clutch assembly can selectively couple rotatable input from the drive shaft to rotation of the input shaft through the second gear at a second drive ratio. The input shaft can operate in each of (i) a high speed through driving rotation of the first gear; (ii) a low speed through driving rotation of the second gear and (iii) no speed wherein both of the first and second gears are disconnected with the drive shaft.

    • The invention relates to a displacement screw compressor, which is especially adapted for use as a super charger for an internal combustion engine. The manufacturing of this type of screw rotor machines is complicated and needs different tools for the different rotors. A considerable simplification with retained positive properties of the screw rotor machines as compared to e.g. rotor machines of so called Roots-type has been obtained by the invention. This is obtained by the rotor bores (5,6) having equal diameters and the rotors (11,12) having identically equal shape and a symmetrical profile with identically uniform cross sections.
