摘要： A multi-axis fatigue testing device includes a multi-axis test fixture having a multiple input, multiple output mechanical linkage driven by a plurality of actuators and a controller operating each of the plurality of actuators in real time and in synchronization to produce user-defined multiple fatigue cycle profiles. At least one of the actuators driving the mechanical linkage acts against an artificial load characterized by a stiffness. The stiffness is selected to increase a resonance frequency of the test fixture to allow fatigue testing at higher frequencies for a wider range of samples.

摘要： This invention concerns the transmitting and receiving of digital media packets, such as audio and video channels and lighting instructions. The network (104) is comprised of at least a transmitter device (110) and a receiving device (112). The controllers (122) and (126) of these devices handle the exchanging of configuration messages between the devices (110) and (112). Using the invention, the user is not required to manually configure the processor to receive media packet streams. Instead, a controller (126) of a receiving device (112) operates to receive information on a user selection of media channels and automatically configure the processor of the transmitter device. Further, the receiving device (112) is able to receive media channels using both unicast and multicast protocols. Media channels can be given textual labels which are unique on the unique (104) and easily identify to the user the actual source of the media channel. Media channels of different formats to be sent on the same net work simultaneous. Further, redundant media channels are easily accommodated.

摘要： There is described an optical free-space signalling system for signalling between a distribution node and a plurality of remote terminals. Each of the remote terminals includes a light source, a lens system for directing light emitted by the light source to the distribution node, and a detector which detects a modulated light beam from the distribution node and generates an electrical signal which varies in dependence upon data conveyed by the modulated light beam. The distribution node comprises a main receiver for receiving data to be transmitted to the plurality of remote terminals, and a plurality of separate modulator units. Each modulator unit has a housing which supports a retro-reflector which reflects light received from a corresponding remote terminal back to the corresponding remote terminal, and a modulator which modulates the reflected light in accordance with received data to form the modulated light beam. By using plural modulator units, the functionality of each individual modulator unit can be simplified.

The data communicator is arranged to send the data as data bits each followed by a confirmation bit and the subsidiary unit has a data returner (33, M1) for modifying the received signal to return the received data as it is received so that each returned data bit is followed by the inverse of the corresponding confirmation bit.
