摘要： This invention is a system and method for producing a personal golf lesson videotape from a visual recording of a person's golf swing (114, 100), and a partially prerecorded instructional golf lesson videotape (56). The partially prerecorded golf lesson videotape (56) has gaps in predetermined locations into which are inserted the full motion video of the person's golf swing (134), and selected still frames (130). The system contains two cameras (12, 15) for recording a player's golf swing (100, 114), and a computer controlled video recording device (112) for copying the selected video (134) and still frames (130) of the recorded golf swing into the gaps of the prerecorded videotape golf lesson (56). The still frames are selected to match the player's position to the position of the professional golfer in corresponding still frames so that a split screen, side by side view can be produced showing the player's and professional's positions at various points along a golf swing. Time codes are stored (210) in the predetermined gaps of the prerecorded videotape (56) to help the VCR locate the gaps.

摘要： A recording apparatus is disclosed, for recording an information signal in at least one track on a record carrier (30). The information signal comprises packets (Pi) that may occur irregularly as a function of time in the serial datastream of the information signal. The apparatus comprises an input terminal (1) for receiving the information signal, a channel encoding unit (6) for channel encoding the information signal into a channel encoded information signal and a writing unit (8) for writing the channel encoded information signal in said at least one track on the record carrier. The channel encoded information signal comprises frames of information. A frame of information may be recorded in a group of n subsequent tracks (Tr0 to Tr11), when the recording apparatus is a recording apparatus of the helical scan type, where n is an integer larger than 1. The apparatus further comprises a time stamp generator unit (14, 20, 24) for generating time stamps (TSi) having a relation to the moment of occurrence of a packet comprised in the information signal received. Further, a combining unit (4) is present for combining a packet and its corresponding time stamp so as to obtain a composite packet (Pi'). The time stamp generator unit comprises a counter (20) for generating subsequent cycles of subsequent count values, and said cycles coinciding in time with the recording of subsequent frames in said at least one track on the record carrier. In response to the detection of the occurrence of a packet in said information signal, a time stamp for said packet is generated, which time stamp has a specified relationship to the count value of said counter means at said moment of occurrence of said packet. A reproducing apparatus is also disclosed (Fig. 3).

The multimedia system includes an integrated system and video decoder that has a novel memory controller and a novel method for displaying complete decoded/decompressed video frames on a display device without tearing. By use of selective storage of decoded/decompressed video frames in memory, tearing is prevented but information for predicting motion of a video segment is preserved.

摘要： A multimedia system including an integrated system (600) and video decoder (619) with an audio/video synchronization circuit (620) for substantially synchronizing the display of video images with audio playback. In addition, a step control is provided to allow for viewing of video images on a frame-by-frame basis or to freeze or play video in slow motion. When step control is activated, audio output is muted. Audio data corresponding to displayed video is transmitted to the muted audio decoder. An internal system clock (401) may be suppressed to the system clock counter (411). An external CPU (820) may provide system clock start times corresponding to video frames to be displayed. The external CPU (820) may increment the system clock counter (411) by an amount corresponding to the difference between a successive frame or number of frames.

Time codes (time code input (1)) supplied are multiplied (input time code frequency detection circuit (9), input detection circuit (10), clock generation circuit (11)), and detailed time date are generated (counter (12)). The time data described above is latched (latch circuit (14)) at a predetermined timing in the input signal (frequency division circuit (16)), and the time data so latched is converted to a predetermined data format (CPU (8)). The time data so converted is recorded with the input signal. In this way, accurate time data is recorded through the same transfer line as that of the input signal, and recording/reproduction of the time codes is carried out satisfactorily.

摘要： During recording of a TV signal on a VCR, data is accumulated representing time of occurrence and duration of events in the television signal, and is stored in memory (42). A time code generator (50) generates time codes which are written on the tape as it is recorded. After recording, the stored data is analyzed to classify the content of the TV signal and a playback map is constructed and stored in memory (64). During playback, the map is retrieved and stored timing data are compared with timing reference data read from the tape. The VCR is fast forwarded when the tape reaches the beginning of a portion of the video signal that has been classified for elimination during playback. The VCR is put in the "play" mode when the tape reaches the end of that portion of the video signal. Since the entire TV signal is recorded, all of the signal may be viewed, even if parts have been misclassified.
