Dadurch, dass am oberen, der Pumpeneinheit (12) gegenüberliegenden Ende der Filtereinheit (10) der Umfassungsmantel (26) mit einem vorgebbaren Abstand früher endet oder derart mit grossflächigen Durchlassstellen (38) versehen ist, dass zumindest das während der Filtration auftretende Luftvolumen aus dem Filterelement (22) verdrängt ist, kann das derart die Pumpeneinheit schädigende Luftpolster nicht mehr in diese gelangen und den schädlichen„Rückwärts”-Lauf der Saug- oder Förderpumpe verursachen.
