    • A liquid filter (1) or a filter sub-assembly (11) that is designed to be mounted in the filter chamber of a liquid filter (1), wherein the filter chamber is delimited by a filter housing (12) having a peripheral wall (120), a bottom wall (122) and is also delimited by a removable filter cap (18) that closes a main filter opening (125) of the filter housing (12) through which the filter sub-assembly (11) can be removed. The filter sub-assembly (11) is designed as a removable part of the liquid filter (1) and can be removed from the filter housing (12) through the main opening (125).
