摘要： Video apparatus and methods include systems used for generating animated pictures and displaying them on an electronic display screen. Sets of discrete image signals corresponding to still images, such as parts of a specific animated display, are received and stored at a selected location in a storage member, which location is identified by corresponding location codes assigned to the image signals. The assigned location codes may also be used to reproduce from storage those image signals corresponding to a selected animation phenomenon. Discrete video display signals corresponding to the selectively reproduced discrete image signals are generated, and the display signals are transferred to a video storage device, from which the signals can be reproduced. When it is desired to display a specific animated sequence, a series of still images is reproduced and displayed on a video display screen. The image signals can be modified after being reproduced from the selected storage locations, and the modified or edited signals can be applied to control the display or placed back into storage.

The rotating member is prevented from rotating to bring the tape recorder or the like into a desired one of the operating modes when one of the projections is held in engaging relationship with one of the engaging members and the rotating member is permitted to rotate for selection of another operating mode when none of the projections are in engaging relationship with the engaging members.

摘要： A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has a magnetic head, two tape winding reels, a first capstan and a first pressure roller opposed thereto, a second capstan and a second pressure roller opposed thereto, the pressure rollers being movable into contact with the capstans for transporting a magnetic tape. Two fixed motors are coaxial with and directly drive the respective capstans. A tape direction control is connected to the pressure rollers for selectively bring the first or second pressure roller into contact with the first or second capstan, respectively for selectively driving the tape in one or the other direction. A transmission is provided to which the tape direction control is connected for driving the tape winding reels under the control of the tape direction control means. The transmission has idlers for transmitting the rotary motion of the motors and is selectively engageable with one of the two winding reels and one of the two motors or with the other of the two winding reels and the other of the two motors, depending on the direction in which the tape is to be transported.
