    • A low power consumption type tape reader permits miniaturization of reel motors and ensures stopping a tape (3) at a first rewind stop code, even if the response of a brake magnet (11) is somewhat poor. When a rewind command is received, the rotational speed of a capstan motor (12) is switched from a forward low speed to a reverse low speed, and then a feed magnet (14) is actuated to rewind the tape (3). The rotational speed of the capstan motor (12) is gradually increased to a reverse high speed. When a rewind stop code is detected, the speed of the capstan motor (12) is gradually decreased to the reverse low speed, and then the brake magnet (11) is actuated to stop the feed of the tape (3) temporarily. A reversible counter (40) stores the number of rewind stop codes detected during the time interval between the detection of the first rewind stop code and the temporary stopping of the feed of the tape (3). After the tape (3) has stopped, the speed of the capstan motor (12) is switched to the forward low speed. When the forward low speed is reached, the feed magnet (14) is actuated to feed the tape (3) in the forward direction, and the number of detected rewind stop codes is subtracted from the contents of the reversible counter (40).     • A system for automatically unwinding paper tape from a roll and feeding it to the output punch of a tape justifying computer. A 14-inch roll of tape without a reel is mounted upright on a hub on the outer wall of a soundproof housing enclosing the output punch. A pair of manually operable retainer members on the end face of the hub swing between inner release positions and outer effective positions to hold the tape roll in place. A roller on a pivoted arm rides on the tape roll and the traveling tape from the roll is turned 90* in direction to a tape drive on the same housing wall, the tape drive feeding the tape to the tape punch inside the housing. The housing comprises a bottom wall and a separate removable box-like shell. The tape punch engages locating pins on the bottom wall and the shell interlocks with the bottom wall in proper relationship thereto for positioning the roll of tape and the tape drive on the housing shell accurately relative to the tape punch inside the housing.

    • A magazine is provided for receiving, storing a stack of and delivering successive sections of a long endless belt of flexible photoconductive sheet material which is pre-folded in zigzag manner for use in indirect electrophotographic copying processes. Oppositely disposed upright guide walls which, in downward direction, converge inwardly to a delivery opening between their lower ends define a storage space holding a large number of the zigzag-folded belt sections stacked one upon another in upwardly bowed postures with their respective folds disposed on opposite portions of the guide walls, so that a length of the belt extending through a processing path from the ends of the stack may easily be drawn continuously from the bottom thereof and redeposited in zigzag folds onto the top thereof. Successive folds entering the top of the magazine are alternately disposed on and pressed down along the opposite guide walls. Threshold members at the delivery opening and/or resilient members bearing elastically against opposite sides of the stack aid in maintaining the folded belt sections in the required upwardly bowed postures.
