摘要： A method is provided for recording and reproducing video information, either as still images or motion picture images on a viewing screen. The method includes photo-optically scanning a record member having frame video recordings provided on a track thereof and separate, discrete indicia including at least one mark associated with each video frame recording which is optically scannable to generate a pulse which may be applied as the frame vertical synchronization pulse for the video signal generated in scanning the video frame recording. The separately generated pulses are applied to cause the beam of a cathode ray tube to fly back to a starting location each time they are generated so that the associated frame video picture signals generated thereafter may be properly applied to generate respective video images on the screen of the cathode ray tube.

摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for automatically positioning a scanning device such as a video camera at selected locations of a substantial area of operation to permit the scanning device to selectively scan different phenomena within the realm of the different areas which may be scanned thereby. In one form, the scanning device is supported by a carriage which is movable along a trackway and is automatically or remotely controlled in its operation. The scanning device is also movable on a fixture which is secured to the carriage so that it may be predeterminately located at different distances from the carriage to scan along different paths of locations. The system includes one or more monitor stations containing receivers of the signals generated by the scanning device and respective viewing screens on which the scanned phenomenon may be displayed. Recording means is also provided which is selectively operably to permit the recording of signals of the scanned phenomena, which signals may be later monitored or analyzed. When it is desired to have a hard copy of the recorded information, a suitable camera or other form of reproduction means is provided which is operable to print copy by the person at the monitor station. In a particular form, the phenomena scanned comprise a plurality of record units or record tracks each containing plural recordings which may be separately and selectively scanned with the scanned information being remotely monitorable and recordable. Control of the operation of the scanner and its conveyance is effected either by automatic means or by remotely generated control signals which are generated by an operator''s selective operation of switches.

摘要： An audio-visual apparatus for intermittently projecting still images of transparencies such as photographs and playing back accompanying audio recordings such as messages and descriptions of the projected information. The audio information is provided in the form of audio recordings on a spiral track of a first record disc which is driven at constant speed while a pick-up follows the spiral track and reproduces the recordings thereof which are fed to a speaker. The projected or directly viewed images are derived from transparencies in the form of individual frames or photographs secured to a second disc which is rotatably assembled with the first disc with both discs having the same axis of rotation. In one form of the invention, both the audio recordings and the transparent image frames may be selectively applied to their respective discs by the user who may also apply control signals to the audio disc for controlling the intermittent drive of the image frame containing disc. In another for both audio and video recordings are provided on a spiral track or tracks of the disc and novel means are provided for scanning same. Novel structures are presented in the record members.

The television camera is controlled in its operation so as to generate a full-frame video picture signal on its output when a trigger input thereto is energized after placing a flat document in the scanning field of the camera. The full frame video signal is automatically transmitted to a receiving station where it is applied to intensity modulate and deflection control the write beam of a video receiver. Hard copy generating means is optically coupled to the display screen of the receiver and is automatically controlled to generate a print of each image generated on said display screen.
