    • A pulse balancing system is provided for a multicylinder two-stroke cycle internal combustion engine in which each cylinder is provided with its own mechanism for supplying an air-fuel mixture thereto. The vacuum pulse balancing system of the invention comprises a plurality of passages interconnecting each cylinder with one of the air-fuel mixture supply devices associated with one of the other cylinders, and one-way check valves provided in the passages. With the vacuum pulse balancing system of the invention, a vacuum pulse created by the piston in one of the cylinders is transferred not only to the air-fuel mixture supply device associated therewith, but also to the air-fuel mixture supply device associated with one of the other cylinders. This alleviates back pressure which may otherwise be caused in the air-fuel mixture supply device associated with the other cylinder due to the on-again off-again suction of air-fuel mixture therefrom to its associated cylinder.

    • An improved carburetion system for a V-type internal combustion engine including a first carburetor and a second carburetor disposed in a space between a first cylinder and a second cylinder arranged in the form of V-shape and adapted to supply an air-fuel mixture to the respective cylinders, said carburetors each having an intake barrel defining an intake passage leading to the associated cylinder respectively. A common intake box having at least an air inlet opening formed on the side walls thereof is provided between both the first and second cylinders in such a manner that the first and second carburetors are connected to said common intake box. Each of the intake barrels has an inlet port which is opened toward the interior of the common intake box and an air horn made of resilient material is connected to said inlet port so that said air horn extends into the interior of the common intake box.

    • A carburetion system for V-type internal combustion engine having a first carburetor and a second carburetor disposed in a space between a first cylinder and a second cylinder arranged in a form like V and adapted to supply air-fuel mixture to respective cylinders independently, improved to have a compact structure and superior intake charging efficiency with capability of substantially uniformly supplying the mixture during acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle. The carburetors have intake barrels defining therein intake passages communicating with the associated cylinders. The intake barrels are disposed substantially at right angles to the axes of the associated cylinders and in the close proximity of each other in such a manner as to partially cross each other. A pair of float chambers are disposed between the intake barrels below the point of crossing of the intake barrels. A main fuel system and a slow fuel system for introducing the fuel from each float chamber have a main fuel pipe and a slow fuel pipe which extend into the portions of the float chamber below the fuel surface. The axes of the main fuel pipe and slow fuel pipe are inclined to the axis of the intake barrel. The slow fuel pipe is arranged such that its axis intersects the fuel surface at a point as close as possible to the center of the fuel surface. Each float chamber accommodates therein a float which cooperates with a float valve in maintaining a constant fuel surface level in the float chamber. The float is arranged in such a manner as to move in parallel with the axis of the slow fuel pipe in response to a change in the level of the fuel surface in the float chamber.

    • An internal combustion engine is disclosed which includes first and second cylinder units each including at least one cylinder, a carburetor with first and second induction passages each having therein a throttle valve rotatable in phase with the other, and first and second intake passages connecting the first and second induction passage to the first and second cylinder units, respectively. The first and second intake passages are communicated near their upstream end. A swing valve is provided which is normally placed in a first position interrupting communication between the first and second intake passages and rotatable to a second position interrupting communication between the second induction passage and the second intake passage. Means are provided for rotating the swing valve to the second position at low load conditions.
