摘要： Disclosed are a turbocharger for a combustion engine and a method of operating a turbocharger. The turbocharger may include a variably positionable flow restrictor for restricting flow in a turbocharger inlet of the turbocharger by an amount dependent on a flow restrictor position. The method may include determining an operating point variable of the combustion engine, controlling a first actuator to exert on the flow restrictor a first actuating force for varying the flow restrictor position depending on the operating point variable, determining a crank angle variable of the combustion engine, and controlling a second actuator to exert on the flow restrictor a second actuating force for varying the flow restrictor position depending on the crank angle variable.

摘要： A multicylinder internal combustion engine, which can simplify its control and is advantageous against thermal loads or vibrations includes a cylinder head with intake valves and exhaust valves arranged therein. Valve actuators are provided for openably operating the intake valves and exhaust valves, respectively. A cylinder head cover forms, in combination with the cylinder head, a valve actuator chamber with the valve actuators accommodated therein. At least some of the valve actuators are deactivatable to disable their corresponding cylinders. The multicylinder internal combustion engine is a V-shaped internal combustion engine provided with a front bank and rear bank. The cylinders on opposite ends in a direction of a crankshaft are set as full-time operating cylinders.

A control module is coupled to the fuel injectors and operates the first fuel injector in a deactivated state for a first chamber cycle during cranking of said engine. The first chamber cycle includes intake and exhaust strokes and is associated with a first combustion chamber.

摘要： An engine, having an intake passage, a throttle valve arranged in the intake passage, and a fuel injector arranged in the intake passage for injecting fuel into the intake passage, comprises an air-flow control valve arranged in the intake passage between the fuel injector and the throttle valve. The air-flow control valve is controlled to close during the engine starting operation, and to open after the engine starting operation completes. The air-flow control valve has a valve element having an axis about which the element is rotatable when the valve is opened or closed. The rotational direction of the valve element is selected so that air flowing through the valve is guided by the valve toward the fuel injector when the air-flow control valve is controlled to an intermediate open position which is between the closed position and the full open position.

摘要： A fuel injection device increases an increment value of fuel after cut-off of assist air so that the air/fuel ratio for combustion can be held constant to stabilize the idling rotational speed. The device has control means for controlling, based on various detection signals indicative of an engine cooling water temperature, an engine rotational speed, an amount of intake air, etc., a valve-opening time of a fuel injection valve in accordance with a predetermined control program, and also controlling an on/off control valve for cutting off air supplied to fuel atomizing means. Fuel incrementing means increases an amount of liquid fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve depending on opening/closing of the on/off control valve and the temperature of engine cooling water. When the on/off control valve is closed and an engine is in a state of steady operation, the increment value of the liquid fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve can be gradually increased by the fuel incrementing means.

摘要： An engine has a combustion chamber and a fuel injection valve for directly injecting a fuel into the combustion chamber. An assist air supplying apparatus supplies assist air to atomize the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve. Assist air supply pressure is controlled so that a given pressure difference is secured between the assist air supply pressure and pressure in the combustion chamber. The assist air, therefore, is supplied under proper pressure for an entire period of fuel injection, to adequately micronize the injected fuel and improve combustion efficiency.

摘要： A fuel metering and injection system for an internal combustion engine circulates fuel through a metering chamber (11) via valved fuel inlet and fuel outlet ports (25, 26) to prepare a metered quantity of fuel. Compressed gas is introduced into the metering chamber through a valved air inlet port (14) to displace the metered fuel and deliver it to the engine. Phasing of the valves is controlled to ensure that the fuel inlet and outlet valves (60, 61) are closed prior to opening of the air inlet valve (16), and that on completion of the injection phase residual gas in the metering chamber (11) is expelled through the fuel outlet port (26).
