摘要： Apparatus allowing ventilation through a ventilation shaft to an underground ventilation duct fluidly communicating through the ventilation shaft to an atmospheric opening of the shaft and on threat of flooding operable to prevent downward flow of surface water into the underground ventilation duct includes one or more hinged panels closing a ventilation passage between the top and bottom of a support fitting in the shaft to prevent flooding. The panels have handles on their topside and pivotable arms on their underside and are liftable to an upright home position allowing ventilation, using tools to reach through grating covering openings on the shaft and lift the panel handles and after the panels are partially lifted, using reach tools to engage and lift the arms to press them again support sidewalls to exert lateral force on underside of the panels to complete upward rotation to the home position.

摘要： Apparatus allowing ventilation through a ventilation shaft to an underground ventilation duct fluidly communicating through the ventilation shaft to an atmospheric opening of the shaft and on threat of flooding operable to prevent downward flow of surface water into the ventilation duct includes support sidewalls fitting in the shaft providing a ventilation passage between support top and bottom openings and a suspension member supported on opposed lateral sidewalls proximate the top opening holding one or more hinge connected panels that manually release to rotationally close the passage and are manually rotationally liftable to a home position allowing ventilation. A panel drain automatically closes when the panel is raised to home position so it is already closed when the panel is released to rotationally close the passage.

摘要： A mine ventilation system and method are provided for continuously supplying fresher air to an automated mining machine located in a mine heading. A blower attached to a mining machine operates to suck fresher air into the heading from a tunnel with through ventilation and to exhaust the air out of the heading through a collapsible duct. A standby blower is provided which is activated should the machine blower not be functioning for whatever reason. This blower draws fresher air from the tunnel with through ventilation and blows it out through the collapsible duct, in a direction opposite to the normal air flow, and into the heading. The standby blower is located in the tunnel downstream of the heading and has an intake duct with an inlet upstream of the heading.

摘要： A tunnel ventilation system located in an upper section of a tunnel has a ventilation section divided into two or three ventilation ducts. One or more of the ducts are connected to reversible fan units so the ducts can serve as either an air infeed or an air exhaust system. The ducts contain a series of remotely controlled flaps which can be opened to ventilate different tunnel zones or closed to isolate other parts of the tunnel. Air blowers at tunnel entrances create an air screen that prevents unintended air circulation into the tunnel. Heat, smoke and other sensors and a software control system enable the system to detect smoke and fire, then to isolate and control ventilation in the fire zone. A fire suppression system using low oxygen air or other fire suppression fluids to blanket and smother the fire operates in conjunction with the ventilation system.

摘要： A roof-mounted ventilator comprising a plurality of blades is disclosed. Each blade comprises front and back blade faces and leading and trailing edges. When the ventilator is viewed in side profile, the blades are positioned and configured such that a line of sight into the interior of the ventilator is substantially restricted or obstructed. Restricting or obstructing the line of sight into the ventilator can reduce or prevent various particles, such as water droplets, debris, dust and light, from entering the ventilator interior. For example, rain is thereby forced to strike a face of the blades, thus preventing direct access into the ventilator interior. The blade itself may include additional features, such as a lip that extends along the length of the leading edge, to further prevent particles from entering the ventilator interior, or to redirect the particles away from the ventilator interior in a controlled manner.
