摘要： A rafter reinforcement bracket apparatus for securing rafters to strengthen a wood frame roof includes a bendable strap configured to conform to a rafter bottom side of a pair of opposing rafters and a beam between the pair of rafters. A left and right bracket are coupled to a strap top side adjacent a strap front edge and a strap back edge, respectively. Each has a perpendicular portion extending perpendicularly from the strap and an upper portion extending perpendicularly from the perpendicular portion and lying in a plane parallel to a plane of the strap. Each of the strap, the left bracket, and the right bracket has a plurality of mounting holes extending therethrough. Each of the mounting holes is configured to receive a fastener to fix the apparatus to the pair of opposing rafters and the beam.

摘要： A roof for a building comprises a ridge beam for defining an upper edge of the roof, and a first eaves beam for defining a lower edge of the roof. The roof further comprises a first panel connectable to both the ridge beam and the eaves beam, being capable of spanning the distance therebetween and extending over at least a first portion of the area of the roof. In addition, the roof comprises one or more retention structures positionable relative to the first panel and one of said beams and configured to clamp said panel against the other of said beams.

摘要： A skylight system including a support frame and an apex patch fitting that together support a plurality of glass pieces joined together in a selectable shape. The support frame includes a sill and a setting chair that are arranged to support the base portions of the glass pieces. The apex patch fitting may be of selectable shape and includes an upper and lower member to retain the peaks or corners of the glass therebetween. The apex patch fitting includes one or more positioning keys to align and secure the glass pieces. A method of making the skylights includes the use of an apex retainer tool to maintain the apex patch fitting in a fixed position while placing glass pieces on it. Multiple apex patch fittings can be used for a skylight, including a skylight that is ridge shaped or hipped ridge shape.

摘要： A building roof tie for attaching roof trusses and rafters to wood top plates in building structures, said roof tie having a sheet metal body with risers and a bridge for overlapping a rafter and flaps for wrapping on the sides of the top plate. The flaps may be configured to penetrate into the top plate for additional stability. Turnbuckles attached to the bridge provide additional hold-down strength against increased uplift forces. Such turnbuckles may include a hinge and pin assembly that can adjust up and down, forward and backwards. The roof ties are pitched to conform to a variety of framing applications. A plurality of apertures is formed in the roof tie to provide openings for fasteners for connecting the tie to the wood top plate and rafter.

One sheet metal hip ridge connector is slope adjustable in the field up to a 12/12 pitch for the hip rafters.
