    • A connecting arrangement for connecting hip rafters at the apex of a hipped roof comprises a plurality of hip rafter support members arranged sequentially around the apex of the roof. Each support member includes at least one outwardly extending member and a carrier member to carry the outwardly extending member. The outwardly extending members are pivotally attached to the carrier member. The outwardly extending member of each support member is adapted to support a respective hip rafter such that adjacent outwardly extending members on adjacent support members can support the same hip rafter.

    • Components for a roof assembly include a glazing having a main support member and a cap engaging member. The cap engaging member has a detent portion extending from an edge region back towards an opposite edge region. The component also includes a beam member a main support member and a rafter support member for supporting a rafter assembly. The rafter support member has a securing portion extending from an edge region. A ridge end member is also disclosed which has a plurality of segment extending radially outwardly from a hub member. Each segment has an elongate mounting member on an edge opposite the hub member. There is also disclosed a wing member for a valley rafter assembly. The wing member has first and second elements secured together. Each of the elements comprises a portion of a mounting formation to which a glazing bar can be mounted. The components further include a bracket arrangement comprising a first bracket mountable on a first rafter assembly, and a second bracket mountable on a second rafter assembly. Securing means is provided to secure the first bracket to the second bracket.

    • Glazing panels are mounted to a support member to have a substantially flush surface between the panels. Each panel carries on an inner surface along each mounting edge a member defining an elongate recess open away from a central part of the sheet. A central upstanding rib on the support member forms shoulders therealong which face toward the member. A resilient gasket extends along the support member on either side of the central rib. Each panel is placed in its desired mounted position with its mounting edge member in contact with the adjacent gasket so that the edge of the sheet is spaced to the side of the central rib which ends between the sheet outer surface and the support member. Resilient clips are engaged at intervals along each sheet between the sheet's recess and the corresponding shoulder to pull the sheet into sealing contact with its gasket via its mounting edge member. A sealing material is applied between the adjacent sheet edges, substantially flush with the outer surfaces of the sheet, over a backer which is bridged between the opposing recesses over the central rib.

    • In a modular glazing system, a plurality of rafter units is affixed to stiffener arms of a plurality of node stiffeners so as to connect the node stiffeners and so that the rafter units define at least one polygonal shape. A frame unit is affixed to each rafter unit. An elongated spacer is placed on each frame unit. The elongate spacer has a glazing placement surface with a predetermined angular relationship to the frame unit. A glazing unit, having a shape corresponding to the polygonal shape defined by at least three rafter units, is placed on the glazing placement surface of the elongated spacer on each frame. Each glazing unit is sealed to the glazing placement surfaces and to the frame units.
