    • The invention relates to a method for producing a reinforcement in the form of a sheet for a composite component, the reinforcement including superposed plies of thread. In accordance with the method, straight portions of thread are arranged, for each ply, at least substantially in a parallel fashion with respect to each other and all the superposed plies are consolidated by using a thread passing through the plies. According to the invention, the superposed plies are laid down on a support, the superposed plies are compacted by mechanical pressure, and in order to preserve the state of compaction of the plies which is thus obtained, the thread for consolidating the plies is stitched, without knotting, through the plies down to at least the level of the surface of the support, the plies having, after compaction, a density of the portions of the thread constituting them which is sufficient to retain the consolidating thread by friction.

    • A moor or anchor (10) for pins (12), needles, or other sewing implements, comprising a moor or anchor having a first end and a second end, the first (14) and the second end (16) are connected by a central portion (30) which may be curved (18), whereby the moor or anchor (10) can be positioned on a surface (20) and receive a pin (12), needle, or other sewing implement to anchor a piece of fabric (19) to the surface. The surface (20) may be fabric, cloth, vinyl, plastic, or any other flexible material. The moor or anchor (10) may be configured in various shapes and include curved portions (18) and planar surfaces (26), and color-coded to facilitate use. A plurality of the moors or anchors are used to form a support and positioning network (50). A method for using the moor to secure and position pins and other sewing implements to surfaces such as fabric or other flexible material is also disclosed, allowing the formation of a surface support and positioning network (48).

    • A device for discharging processed or worked lengths of material from a work table the lengths having a part lying on the work table and a part hanging over an edge thereof. The device includes a pair of parallel superposed perforate conduits spaced from the edge of the table and connected to a source of compressed air, and a receiving bar pivoted about an axis below the table on which the lengths are eventually straddled. The upper conduit is positioned at the level of the work table and the lower bar is positioned at the same level as the receiving bar. The jet of air formed by the lower conduit retains the portion hanging over the end of the table against the receiving bar while the jet of air formed by the upper conduit flips the part of the length lying on the table onto the receiving bar such that the length is straddled on the receiving bar.
