    • The ramming device comprises a ramming element to be assigned to the end of a rock breaker. The inventive device receives the shocks generated by the rock breaker and transmits them to fragments to be compacted. The ramming device also has a frame comprising: positioning structure for positioning relative to the rock-breaker so that the axis of the frame is coincident with the axis of the rock breaker; joining structure that enable the temporary and removable fixing of the frame to the end of the rock breaker; axially translational guiding structure for guiding the ramming element relative to the frame; structure for blocking the rotation of the ramming element about the axis of the frame, and; structure for limiting the amplitude of this translation.

    • There is provided a power-driven striking tool including: a casing; a tool holder rotatably supported inside the casing and having a front end to which a tool bit is attached; and an operating member fitted around the tool holder and exposed to the outside of the tool so as to be manually slidable in the axial directions of the tool holder and integrally rotatable with the tool holder. The operating member is biased rearward by a compression spring along the axis of the tool holder into contact with the casing. The tool further includes first teeth provided on the operating member where it comes into contact with the casing and second teeth provided on the casing where it comes into contact with the operating member. When the operating member is brought into contact with the casing, the first and second teeth engages each other to prevent the operating member and thus the tool holder from rotating relative to the casing.

To strengthen the torque transfer device for transferring torque to the tool member the at least one locking groove (25) in the tool shaft (11) includes a front portion (34) and a rear portion (33) and the front portion is deeper than the rear portion so that in a working position of the tool member (12) the at least one lock element (19) is located in the front portion of the at least one locking groove (25) and protrudes more deeply into the tool shaft (11) than in an idle position of the tool member (12) in which the at least one lock element (19) is located in the rear portion of the at least one locking groove (25).

    • A chuck for receiving and holding the shank of a drilling tool includes a chuck member with a central bore. An anvil for transmitting axially directed percussive force extends into a rear end of the central bore. Clamping jaws are movable in guide channels formed in the chuck member extending into the central bore ahead of the anvil for frictionally locking the shank. In the region of the chuck member into which the anvil is located, there is a radially extending passageway through the chuck member extending between the central bore and a guide channel. A retaining member is radially displaceable through the passageway and has a dimension so that it can project outwardly or inwardly from the passageway. When the remaining member extends radially inwardly from the passageway, it can seat within an annular groove in the anvil and hold the anvil in a position so that it does not transmit percussive force. If the retaining member extends radially outwardly from the passageway, it can seat within a groove in a clamping jaw and secure the clamping jaw out of frictional contact with the shank.
