The example exhaust system for a biochar kiln also includes a second forced air inlet operatively coupled with the chimney. The second forced air inlet activated to increase airflow when air naturally occurring in a smoke stream in the chimney is insufficient, the second forced air inlet deactivated when there is sufficient air.

摘要： A pellet stove having a combustion assembly housing. Located within the housing in a vertical array are a primary combustion chamber, a secondary combustion chamber located below the primary combustion chamber, and an ash receptacle located below the secondary combustion chamber. The primary combustion chamber communicates with the secondary combustion chamber, and the secondary combustion chamber communicates with the ash receptacle. A pellet feed housing is located above the primary combustion chamber and has a feed plate configured to feed pellets directly into the primary combustion chamber along an inclined path. Air intake ducts communicate ambient air with the interior of the housing. The primary combustion chamber communicates with a combustion gas conduit that conducts combustion gases along an upwardly extending tortuous path to an exhaust stack to provide heating. A pivotal, latchable door is attached to the front of the combustion assembly housing.

The conduit assembly has a first conduit length in which: a) combustion gases are communicated in a first direction in a first path between the flue outlet and a vent outlet; and b) backflow is communicated in the first path in a direction opposite to the first direction. The conduit assembly has a draft control assembly, with a conduit portion defining a flow passage in which backflow is diverted out of the first path. The draft control assembly further has a flow guide assembly that intercepts and guidingly diverts the backflow into the conduit portion to be exhausted.

摘要： A draft control system for furnaces comprises an auxiliary channel in communication both with ambient air and the flue of the furnace, a main draft control means for regulating the entrance of ambient, auxiliary draft air into the flue, and auxiliary draft control means mounted in the auxiliary channel for dampening the effect of extreme changes in external conditions on the main draft control means. Thus, uniform draft and efficient combustion is maintained in the furnace under a wide variety of conditions. The main draft control means comprises counter-balanced draft control plates which are initially set in an open position so that they can either open or close in order to efficiently regulate the draft in the flue. The auxiliary draft control means comprises, in one embodiment, an isolation damper plate rotationally mounted in the auxiliary channel, or, in a second embodiment, a set of louvred panels. The position of the auxiliary draft control means is automatically regulated by a pneumatic control device responsive to the efficiency of furnace combustion.

摘要： A combination powered flue products exhaust and preheated combustion air supply assembly is provided for use in association with a heating furnace so that flue exhaust products are given a positive exhaust to the outside while a balanced pre-heated combustion air supply is simultaneously and positively pulled inside. A compartmented main housing is provided having flue products exhaust and combustion air compartments. A flue products exhaust fan is provided in the flue products exhaust compartment and a simultaneously activated and driven combustion air intake fan is provided in the combustion air compartment. An outside air intake pipe is connected to the main housing so as to deliver combustion air to the combustion air compartment for delivery to the furnace area upon selective activation of the combustion air intake fan. A flue products exhaust pipe concentrically positioned within the air intake pipe is provided in association with the flue products exhaust compartment so as to deliver hot flue exhaust products to the outside atmosphere upon selective activation of the flue products exhaust fan. An automatic air pressure controlled air intake damper is provided in the air intake pipe so as to close the air intake pipe when the fans are not running. An automatic air pressure controlled flue products exhaust damper is provided in the flue products exhaust pipe so as to close the flue products exhaust pipe when the fans are not running.
