An adaptor boot (200) seals around the mouth (201) of the flue (22) and converts the cross-sectional dimension of the flue to the cross-sectional dimension of the duct system (202, 251, 258) that extends between the adaptor boot (200) and the damper frame (12). Means (223, 224) are provided to manipulate the adaptor boot (200) into operative position and thereafter wedge against the shelf (25) forming the floor of the smoke chamber (26) to support the secondary portion (10B) in its operative position.
