摘要： A method of operating a fuel-fired burner of an emission abatement assembly includes supplying a reduced amount of fuel to the fuel-fired burner in response to detection of a burner shutdown request. Such a reduced fuel supply continues for a predetermined time period after which fuel is no longer supplied to the burner. The supply of both combustion air and atomization air, along with spark generation, continues for a period of time after the fuel is shutoff. An emission abatement assembly is also disclosed.

摘要： A drive assembly for a vehicle with an internal-combustion engine for supplying driving energy, has an exhaust gas turbocharger which has a turbine and a compressor. The turbine is driven by exhaust gases of the internal-combustion engine, and the compressor is driven by the turbine. An air guiding system supplies fresh air to the compressor, in which the fresh air is compressed to form charge air. The air guiding system guides the charge air from the compressor to the internal-combustion engine, and the power of the internal-combustion engine is to be increased at low rotational speeds by an additional compressor which generates compressed fresh air which, as a function of the requirements, can be supplied to the air guiding system upstream of the internal-combustion engine. As the additional compressor, a compressor is used which is already present in the vehicle for other purposes.

摘要： A proactive heating system for a vehicle, which is used to increase the temperature of an exhaust catalyst prior to ignition of an engine to reduce emissions. The proactive heating system is part of an exhaust system for a vehicle, and includes an electrically heated catalyst and an air pump, which are activated prior to engine ignition, to increase the temperature of a three-way catalyst such that the three-way catalyst is at the desired target threshold temperature, or light-off temperature, prior to engine ignition, eliminating the delay in emissions treatment after cold-start of the engine. The proactive heating system addresses the high level of untreated emissions emitted from an internal combustion engine before the catalytic emissions system reaches the light-off temperature. The proactive heating system provides heating of a catalyst to light-off temperature without combusting hydrocarbon fuel, which leads to engine out emissions.
