The exhaust gas post treatment within the muffler, which forms sulfuric acid, takes place in at least one exhaust gas post treatment/muffler module, and only that housing thereof through which flows exhaust gas that is to be cleaned is produced from ferritic or austenitic stainless steel, thus making it possible to produce the outer walls of the muffler, as well as any inner element thereof, such as a transverse wall, that is disposed externally of the exhaust gas post treatment/muffler module of unalloyed sheet steel that is coated with aluminum or some other material.

The external shells are formed to include peripheral portions and chambers extending from the peripheral portions. The chambers are separated from one another by baffle creases unitary with the respective external shells. Portions of the baffle creases of one external shell are secured in face-to-face contact with corresponding portions of the baffle creases in the other external shell. The baffle creases comprise arcuate portions corresponding to the shape of the pipes passing between the chambers separated by the baffle creases.

摘要： There is provided a method for inhibiting corrosion at elevated temperatures of a nonnesting accordion folded or wound corrugated thin metal strip. The strip is corrugated with a longitudinally running series of peaks and valleys by passing the strip through a set of corrugating gears, each of the corrugations including one longitudinally extending displacement deviating from and returning to an imaginary line extending between the longitudinal marginal edges of the strip. The corrugations are characterized further in that the deviation extends in the direction of movement of the strip through the corrugating gears and is first to enter and exit from such gears. This places the maximum of the deviation in compression which has been found to minimize corrosion, e.g., from the pollutants contained in the exhaust from an internal combustion engine.

The method involves forming a plated substrate including a metal substrate provided with a nickel layer or with a nickel and cobalt layer followed by electrodepositing a molybdenum oxide layer from an aqueous solution onto the plated substrate, which is subsequently subjected to an annealing step in a reducing atmosphere to reduce the molybdenum oxide in the molybdenum oxide layer to molybdenum metal in a reduction annealing step and to form a diffusion layer which contains nickel and molybdenum, and optionally cobalt.

摘要： An exhaust gas purification apparatus includes a SCR converter selectively reducing and purifying NOx in exhaust gas upon being supplied with ammonia generated from urea aqueous solution and an injection nozzle injection-supplying the urea aqueous solution on exhaust gas upstream side of the SCR converter. At least a part of an exhaust pipe located between the injection nozzle and the SCR converter has a double-pipe structure including inner and outer pipes, each having a welded portion, and the welded portion of the outer pipe was welded from an inside of the outer pipe. Thus, the outer pipe has fine welded portion on an inner peripheral surface where a welding temperature is high and the coarse welded portion on an outer peripheral surface where the welding temperature is low, resulting in an ordered atomic arrangement and thus improved corrosion resistance of the inner peripheral surface, which may be exposed to ammonia.
