    • A sliding window assembly includes a window frame supporting a main glass with an opening, and a carriage coupled in the window frame and supporting a slider glass sized to fit into the opening in the main glass. The carriage is displaceable in the window frame between an open position, a ready position, and a closed position. The slider glass is disposed in the opening when the carriage is in the closed position. A lever assembly connects the carriage and the window frame. The carriage is linearly displaceable in a first direction between the open position and the ready position, and the carriage is linearly displaceable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction between the ready position and the closed position.

    • An automotive door glass assembly which in a preferred embodiment includes an extendable door glass extendable from a door cavity and having a first bore and an edge surface; a shoe supporting the door glass having an alignment surface and a generally oblong longitudinal slot intersecting the first bore; a U-shaped cradle positioned adjacent the glass around the edge of the glass having a bore generally aligned with the first bore, the cradle also having a ledge and a surface in contact with the shoe alignment surface; a cam plate fitted within the first bore and the bore of the cradle, the cam plate having a head retained by the ledge of the cradle; a fastener eccentrically mounted in the cam plate and engaged therewith for permanently affixing the position of the glass with respect to the shoe; and a sleeve surrounding the threaded fastener and torsionally associated with the cam plate at a first end and at a second end having a torque receiving head to allow for adjustment of the glass with respect to the shoe.

    • This disclosure depicts a mechanism for guiding movement of a door glass in a motor vehicle door having a door panel, front side door frame, and a rear side door frame that leans forwardly. The mechanism includes a door frame glass guide formed in the front of the rear side frame, for guiding a rear end edge of the door glass in the vertical direction and restraining the rear end edge of the door glass from moving in the direction of the thickness of the door glass. The mechanism also includes a front guide for guiding the forward end portion of the door glass in the vertical direction at least to a predetermined partially opened portion below a beltline portion of the door panel and restraining the door glass from moving in the direction of the thickness of the door glass. The mechanism is constructed such that the door glass is guided parallelly along the rear side door frame within the range from the fully closed position to the predetermined partially opened position and the rear end edge of the door glass is guided in a manner to rock about a bottom end position of the front guide between the partially opened position and a fully opened position.

    • The window glass closure for a vehicle window opening occupies a closed position in which its outer surface is substantially flush with the exterior surface of the door or other body portion in which the opening is provided. This is accomplished by guiding the upper edge of the window along a path inclined slightly outwardly of the vehicle as the window completes its upward movement from its lowered open position. It further comprises guiding the lower edge of the window along a path which is inclined substantially outwardly from the vertical as the window reaches upper position. Preferably this is effected by a generally vertical main guide track which receives a follower carried adjacent the upper edge of the window constrained to follow the main guide track. An abruptly inclined diversion track is connected with the main guide track which receives a follower carried adjacent the lower edge of the window and is adapted to depart from the main track and to enter the inclined diversion track portion.
