摘要： An immobilization device for steering systems on marine motors. The device comprises a first and second member, each member having two opposite ends, a non-immobilizing fastener connecting the first member near one of its ends to the second member near one of its ends, and a compressing fastener connecting the first member near the other of its ends to the second member near the other of its ends. The compressing fastener operates to draw the first and second members closer together. The device may also be part of an immobilization system comprising at least one of the devices and a steering system having a steering shaft and a steering ram. The device is assembled around the steering shaft and the compressing fastener is capable of applying sufficient compressive force to resist the steering ram sliding along the steering shaft.

摘要： A cowl for an outboard marine propulsion device having an internal combustion engine. The cowl comprises a first cowl portion; a second cowl portion that mates with the first cowl portion to enclose the internal combustion engine; a service door on the second cowl portion, wherein the service door is positionable in an open position and in a closed position; and a carrying handle on the second cowl portion, wherein the carrying handle is accessible when the service door is in the open position and inaccessible when the service door is in the closed position. A plurality of latches are spaced apart around the perimeter. The latches latch the second cowl portion to the first cowl portion. An actuator assembly actuates each of the plurality of latches. The actuator assembly can be actuated by movement of the carrying handle.

摘要： An anti-theft device for obstructing access to a nut securing a propeller on a drive shaft of an outboard engine assembly. The device comprises a two part yoke which partially encircles the housing of the engine assembly and its drive train at one end, and at its other end locates a cap over the nut threaded to the drive shaft. The two parts enable adjustment of the longitudinal dimension of the device, for accommodating outboard engine assemblies of different dimensions. In alternative embodiments, two types of locks are provided. One type is an integral key operated locking cylinder. The other type accepts a conventional padlock. In a further alternative embodiment, the cap has projections for engaging propeller blades and preventing these blades from rotating when the device is installed.

摘要： A locking assembly for preventing access to a nut threadedly secured onto a bolt, the nut and bolt generally mounting an article, such as an outboard motor, to a structure, such as a boat transom. The locking assembly is independent of the bolt and nut, and includes a cylindrical housing that receives the bolt through one end thereof and allows for the threading of the nut onto the bolt. A cap that is received on the end of the housing opposite the bolt, by a boss and counterbore arrangement, is rotatably retained by a roll pin. The cap includes a tapered bore that receives a threaded stud and locking lug assembly. The threaded stud is received by a locking lever that is nonrotatably retained within the housing. As the locking lug is tightened, the cap is secured to the housing to prevent access to the nut.

One optional feature of the invention are running lights mounted on the sides of the lockable case members. Another optional feature is an electronic alarm which is activated during attempts to steal the propeller.

摘要： A device is provided for use in conjunction with a marine vessel having an engine, a transmission connected to the engine and having a portion extending exteriorly of the boat and an out drive which is connected to the exteriorly extending portion of the transmission by removable fasteners. The device of the present invention prevents the unauthorized removal of the out drive from the transmission. The instant device comprises a housing having a top wall, a back wall and opposing side walls which extend downwardly from the top wall and on opposite sides thereof. The top wall of the housing includes a slot through which the mooring eye on the out drive is positioned and, in doing so, the threaded fasteners which connect the out drive to the transmission are inaccessibly positioned between the housing side walls. The housing itself is removably secured to the out drive by a padlock having its bolt extending through the mooring eye in order to permit removal of the out drive only by authorized personnel.
