摘要： A method and system are provided for the creation of vertical and horizontal freeze wells, in a dome-like pattern around the ore body, as a hydraulic barrier to ensure the ISR mining solution and the mined minerals do not flow out of the ore body. A method to formulate a suitable mining solution used for ISR mining, where the lixivant does not freeze when using the freeze dome containment method and where the resulting PLS has a high concentration of dissolved minerals and thus eliminates the need for the solvent extraction/ion exchange step during processing is also described.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for producing a contiguous ice body in a ground region, wherein first cooling lances are inserted into the ground region in which the contiguous ice body is to be produced in the presence of a flow of a fluid flow medium flowing through the ground region, in particular in the form of groundwater, wherein a first coolant is introduced into the first cooling lances, and wherein furthermore at least one second cooling lance is introduced into the ground region on a side of the first cooling lances facing the flow and a second coolant, which has a temperature that is lower than the temperature of the first coolant, is introduced into the at least one second cooling lance in order to support the formation of a contiguous ice body that surrounds all of the cooling lances.

摘要： A process and apparatus are provided for cleaning contaminated earth. The contaminated soil is first frozen using freezer boxes which are placed on the surface of the ground to be frozen. A refrigerant, preferably liquid nitrogen, is then introduced into the box until the soil is frozen to a desired depth and temperature. The frozen soil containing pollutants is then removed and placed in sealed containers for optional further treatment.

The flowable thermal backfill has a low thermal resistivity, useful for filling trenches containing electrical cables and other lines that generate heat. The method includes process steps of blending ingredients of stone, sand and fly ash, making a flowable thermal fill by mixing the blended stone, sand and fly ash with Portland cement and water, and pouring the flowable thermal fill in an excavation containing heat generating lines, immediately after mixing the flowable thermal backfill.

The lower annular surface of the frame assembly rests on a convexly curved surface (36C) of a metallic adapter (36), which in turn rests on the generally flat surface (12A) of the manhole basin upper section (12); this allows the orientation of the frame assembly to be adjusted. Also, the frame assembly itself may have parts which allow its upper part to be adjusted for slope when the lower part of the frame assembly has been fixed. Another feature is a hinge mechanism (16) having a hinge arm (74) connecting two pivots (72,76), and having interlocking means (18) which prevent the hinge side of the cover from being raised when the cover is closed.

One or more metal freeze pipes are installed in a bore and equipped with one or more feed pipes. The feed pipes extend to different depths with the longer feed pipes being larger to supply more refrigerant to greater depths and achieve uniform top to bottom ground freezing despite the effects of geothermal gradients.
