摘要： Various examples are provided related to attachment of bands about a garment opening. In one example, among others, a sleeve band can be attached to a garment by loading the sleeve band on a band guide, aligning an opening of a garment over the sleeve band, and attaching the band to the garment along the edge of the opening. Alignment of the edges of the opening and the sleeve band can be maintained by ply aligners during attachment. In another example, a garment holding system includes a garment holder that can receive a garment and a band positioning system includes a band guide that can receive a band. Edges of the opening of the garment and the band can be controlled and maintained with ply aligners of the band positioning system.

摘要： A method of forming a resilient band for an article of apparel includes stretching a first fabric having a first resiliency to a first stretched position and stretching a second fabric having a second resiliency to a second stretched position. The second resiliency is greater than the first resiliency. The method further includes securing the first fabric to the second fabric while the first fabric is in the first stretched position and while the second fabric is in the second stretched position. Moreover, the method includes releasing the first fabric from the first stretched position and the second fabric from the second stretched position after securing the first fabric to the second fabric.

摘要： A carpet edge finishing machine having enhanced power through the use of an elongated feed dog is disclosed. As a result, the machine can be used for the most demanding of carpet edge finishing applications and also has sufficient power to pull itself along the edge of the carpet without assistance from the machine operator. In the disclosed embodiment, a serger includes a frame having a planar table over which the carpet moves. A powered roller is located above the planar table and presses downwardly on the carpet edge to forcefully move the carpet. A presser foot is located above the carpet and presses downwardly on the carpet and is located in close proximity to the powered roller. A movable feed dog engages the lower surface of the carpet edge in a reciprocating motion to assist in pulling the carpet. The feed dog is elongated and underlies both the powered roller and the presser foot to sandwich the carpet there between. The movement of the carpet is enhanced by the elongated feed dog acting against both the powered roller and the presser foot.

摘要： A seam forming device is provided for a blindstitching machine for starting a seam at the fabric end. This device has a fabric feeding apparatus positioned direct in front of a feed dog, so as to enable it to form seams which begin at the fabric end at which sewing is initiated. This eliminates the unseamed portion at the fabric end at which sewing is initiated, which has previously been inevitable when sewing with a conventional blindstitching machine. Thus, with the present invention, it is no longer necessary to manually finish the seam after blindstitching.

A lower feed amount setting motor sets a feed amount of a lower feed dog and an upper feed amount change motor changes a feed amount of an upper feed dog. A feed execution range, in which the feed of the object to be sewn is executed by an appropriate feed amount while the object to be sewn is sandwiched between the lower feed dog and the upper feed dog, and a feed non-execution range, in which the feed of the object to be sewn is not executed in a state in which the feed dogs do not act on the object to be sewn, are present. The feed amount of the upper feed dog can be changed only in the feed non-execution range during sewing.

摘要： A method of fabricating pattern composite fabric pieces by an automatic pattern fabric article piece processing machine is described. A composite fabric sheet is fed in the processing machine onto a conveyor having a permeable belt under which is provided a vacuum chamber to retain the fabric sheet stationary while a laser cutter effects a programmed job function. The machine forms seam allowance flaps for the composite fabric pattern piece. A stitching or ultrasonic bonding machine also forms seams. In a further stage, printed matter may be applied to the allowance flaps. Glue may also be applied to the flaps and labels to some of the pattern fabric pieces. By interconnecting the seam allowance flaps of different fabric pieces, in a specific order, a fabric material article is produced.

The cloth cutting knife 16 is moved up and down at least once during formation of the stitches of the right and left side sewing portions. Also, the cloth cutting knife 16 is moved up and down once each time a given number of stitches of the right and left side sewing portions are formed. The given number of stitches is set in accordance with both of the length of the cutting edge of the cloth cutting knife 16 and the length of the buttonhole to be formed.
