摘要： The invention relates to novel aqueous coating compositions containing epoxy urethane (glycidyl carbamate) functional resin. An aqueous coating composition comprises a polyfunctional oligomer having at least two epoxy urethane functional groups and a polyalkylene oxide chain, an optional surfactant, and water. The aqueous coating compositions of the invention can be dispersed in water with or without added surfactants to form a dispersion containing no volatile organic solvent. The invention provides a method for making aqueous coating compositions containing epoxy urethane functional resin as well. Water-dispersible epoxy urethane compounds of the aqueous coating compositions are also provided.

摘要： The resin-coated metal sheet for containers includes a resin coating layer (A) having a multilayered structure mainly composed of a polyester resin on at least one surface thereof. The resin coating layer (A) includes a resin layer (a1). The resin layer (a1) adheres to the metal sheet, contains (i) a polyester resin, (ii) a phenolic resin, (iii) a metal alkoxide compound and/or a metal chelate compound, (iv) an epoxy resin, and (v) at least one selected from the group consisting of polyamine resins, polyamidoamine resins, and polyamide resins, and is mainly composed of the polyester resin. Preferably, a polyester film (a2) is disposed on the resin layer (a1).

摘要： The present invention is directed to a carbamate-functional polymer that is used to promote the acid etch resistance and recoat adhesion of coating compositions. The polymer is the reaction product of a first compound having a hydroxyl group and a carbamate group, and a carboxylic acid anhydride that is reactive with the hydroxyl group of the first compound. The first compound and the carboxylic acid anhydride form an intermediate compound having a carboxylic acid group and the carbamate group. A second compound has an epoxy group that is reactive with the carboxylic acid group of the intermediate compound for preparing the carbamate-functional polymer. The present invention is also directed to a curable coating composition including the polymer and a method of preparing the polymer.

摘要： Powder coating compositions are comprised of particles having a diameter of from about 20 μm to about 250 μm comprising: (1) a hydroxyl- and/or carboxyl-terminated polyester having a number average molecular weight of from about 1000 to about 6000 and a dynamic shear viscosity of less than 5000 cPs; (2) from about 1% to about 50% by weight of the polyester of a cross-linking agent capable of reacting with the terminal groups of the polyester and wherein the powder coating composition has a density of from about 0.95 g/cm3 to about 1.8 g/cm3. These compositions cure rapidly and provide coatings having superior physical-mechanical properties. The powder coating compositions can be applied by various methods but are particularly useful for thermal spray application methods.
