摘要： The invention relates to a device and process for handling and controlling the yarn (2) in a crosswinding head of a crosswinding machine during the starting operations of a new lot, said crosswinding machine being equipped with a series of crosswinding heads and at least one service trolley (16), wherein the end of the yarn (2) of a new pirn is collected by the suction mouth (7) on the pirn (1) side and delivered to the joining device (9), from where it is, in turn, collected by the suction mouth (8) on the side of the bobbin and, after the suction mouth (8) has rotated until it is close to the driving and traversing cylinder (6), engaging the yarn (2) on its back during the movement, which is transferred from this to the handling device (15) of the service trolley (16).

摘要： An insertion mechanism is provided for bringing an insert yarn into association with a base yarn in an automatic winder. The insertion mechanism comprises an insertion guide for delivering the insert yarn to a predetermined location on the winder, and a tensioning device for maintaining tension on the insert yarn. In another aspect, an automatic winder is configured or modified for direct insertion. In contrast to conventional creel frame insertion, the direct insertion technique of the invention avoids the need for a separate step of back-winding, and allows the automatic doffing feature on the winder to be enabled.

The operating positions of the yarn suction pipe that can be moved into at least two operating planes are defined in such a manner that when the yarn suction pipe is in its operating position in a first operating plane, a yarn extending from the bobbin pressing on a winding roller to the yarn suction pipe crosses the traversing range of the yarn traversing guide. However, the yarn is outside the traversing range of this yarn traversing guide when the yarn suction pipe assumes its operating position in an additional operating plane. The yarn suction pipe is mounted on a swivel pin that is in turn mounted on an additional swivel pin.
