Generally, the principle of operation of a hoist is based on the cable being driven by adherence of the cable to the drum of the hoist. A hoist is described according to an embodiment of the present invention. The hoist comprises a drum, a plurality of guides, a guide support and a biasing device for displacing a portion of a cable away from the guide when the drum is rotationally displaced to thereby hoist a load.

摘要： In a device for guiding and braking a yarn, a yarn brake comprises braking elements that are pressed flexibly against each other and act on the yarn in a pinch zone. The yarn brake is arranged in the yarn running path between a yarn feeder and a yarn receiver. A pneumatic threader also is provided which includes at least one air and yarn guide element that is disposed in the yarn brake and surrounds the pinch zone without contact. The air and yarn guide element comprising a receiving end, a delivery end and a guide channel provided therebetween, which is open towards the braking elements and from which the yarn is introduced into the pinch zone. The yarn is conveyed into the guide channel by means of an air flow past the pinch zone to the yarn receiver and is introduced into the pinch zone under the action of a produced drawing force.

Each unit formed from a vertically arranged elastic blade at least partly of ferromagnetic material and a flat support plate of non-magnetic material, between which the weft yarn is made to travel. The blade is fixed to the frame of the weft brake by the end which is closer to the feed bobbin and is preloaded in a direction urging it away from said support plate and against a respective stop pin. The blade is pressed against the support plate by the attraction of an at least one electromagnet of adjustable excitation.

摘要： A ball tension device for producing generally uniform tension in a traveling textile yarn, particularly in combination with a yarn storage and supply apparatus of the rotating drum type. A base portion has a yarn passageway with an upwardly facing annular ball seat. A ball freely rotatably rests on the seat to apply a force to a yarn passing over the seat and through the passageway. A ball retaining portion extends over the ball at an upward spacing sufficient to allow upward movement of the ball but insufficient to allow removal of the ball. These base and ball retaining portions project transversely from a mounting portion to provide a substantial open space to permit entry of a downwardly inclined traveling yarn. The ball retaining portion is imperforate to provide a cover for the ball and seat to shield the ball and seat from accumulation of lint. Similarly, the substantial open space around the ball and seat tends to minimize lint accumulation. The ball retaining portion is formed with an undersurface facing the ball and has an upwardly extending recess to accommodate upward movement of the ball while the ball retaining member otherwise retains the ball against displacement from the device. This recess may be elongated to accommodate transverse movement of the ball during threading. For the same purpose, the mounting portion may be formed with a recess in the surface facing the ball to permit movement of the ball transversely to accommodate threading.
