摘要： Plasiticized polyvinylacetal films with grater film-to-film uniformity are produced by a process of extruding a melt stream containing a polyvinyl acetal and a plasticizer at 150-250° C., the film having a predefined melt viscosity at 60-170° C., by providing a first melt stream of at least a first plasticizer and a first polyvinyl acetal resin and measuring its melt viscosity at 60-170° C. online; and adjusting the 60-170° C. melt viscosity by adding a second plasticizer and/or a second polyvinyl acetal resin to the first melt stream in an amount to provide a second melt stream with a melt viscosity at 60-170° C. having a difference of at most 20% to the predefined melt viscosity at 60-170° C.

摘要： A rotary processor has enclosed processing passages defined by channels in the rotor and a stationary coaxial closure. At least one processing passage is used as a stabilizing passage and another as a metering passage, whose volume and cross section are less than the stabilizing passage. A feed of plastic or polymeric material enters the stabilizing passage and may be subject to fluctuations or disturbances arising in external upstream equipment or within upstream stages of the processor itself. Substantially all material in the stabilizing passage is diverted through a first transfer passage to an entrance into the metering passage. An adjustable metering (throttling) element allows a controlled first flow of material to be carried downstream through an adjustable gap between this metering element and the bottom of the metering passage. This controlled first flow is discharged for providing material having uniform flow or at least a marked reduction in such fluctuations and disturbances. The excess material which does not pass through the adjusted gap forms a recycled second flow which is returned back through a second transfer passage into said stabilizing passage for recycling. A modified embodiment shown as metering pumping apparatus includes pairs of stabilizing and metering passages sharing in handling throughput with adjustable throttling means for each metering passage. Interconnecting transfer passages equalize operation among these pairs. A transfer passage is also shown extending from an upstream processing passage to and past a metering passage to a stabilizing passage.

In the process, the constituents of the mixture are fed into a twin-screw extruder and are masticated and homogenized therein, with approximately 5% of the mixture being discharged and the remainder being recycled for further homogenization and for mixing with fresh batches of the constituents being fed into the extruder. 摘要： An extruder for delivering foamed glue from a foamer selectively to a plurality of spaced apart outlet orifices for extrusion onto a substrate surface and to bypass passageways for diverting the foamed glue to a defoamer for subsequent return to the foamer, is formed of three elongated flat blocks secured together releasably in face-abutting relationship. The surfaces of the outer, inlet and bypass blocks facing the center coupling block are recessed to provide a plurality of passageways all of which extend substantially equal distances from inlet and bypass ports in the inlet and bypass blocks, respectively, to a plurality of coupling ports in the coupling block. An air pressure operated selector valve in the bypass block is operable to communicate the coupling ports selectively with the bypass passageways for bypassing foamed glue to the defoamer and with the outlet orifices for extruding foamed onto a substrate surface.
