摘要： Disclosed herein is a multilayered article comprising a core layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; where the thermoplastic polymer comprises a polyolefin, thermoplastic starch, and a compatibilizer; where the compatibilizer does not contain ethylene acrylic acid; where the polyolefin is not polypropylene and where the polyolefin present in an amount of greater than 40 wt %, based on a total weight of the core layer; a first layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; and a second layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; where the first layer and the second layer are devoid of fillers; where the first layer is disposed on a side of the core layer that is opposed to the side that contacts the second layer; where the multilayered article has an optical clarity of greater than 80% when measured as per ASTM D 1746 and a total haze less than 8% when measured as per ASTM D 1003.

A system includes a porous substrate, a deposition nozzle, a reservoir of randomly oriented fibers in solution connected to the deposition nozzle, the deposition nozzle position adjacent the porous substrate and connected to the reservoir, the nozzle to receive the randomly oriented fibers and output aligned fibers, and a vacuum connected to the porous substrate to remove fluid from the porous substrate as the deposition nozzle deposits the aligned fibers on the porous substrate to produce a fiber pre-form having aligned fibers.

摘要： An extruder or other similar tool head of a three-dimensional printer is slidably mounted along a feedpath of build material so that the extruder can move into and out of contact with a build surface according to whether build material is being extruded. The extruder may be spring-biased against the forward feedpath so that the extruder remains above the build surface in the absence of applied forces, and then moves downward into a position for extrusion when build material is fed into the extruder. In another aspect, modular tool heads are disclosed that can be automatically coupled to and removed from the three-dimensional printer by a suitable robotics system. A tool crib may be provided to store multiple tool heads while not in use.

The method further comprises wherein the computing device is adapted to send signals to the first and second gravimetric feeders to separately adjust the rates at which the first and second gravimetric feeders each feed the color masterbatch thermoplastic polymer pellets or granules and the non-colored thermoplastic polymer pellets or granules to the extruder; wherein the second gravimetric feeders is sent signals to continuously feed the non-colored thermoplastic polymer pellets or granules to the extruder at a desired rate; and wherein the first gravimetric feeder is randomly sent signals to feed the color masterbatch thermoplastic polymer pellets or granules to the extruder at a first rate and randomly sent signals to feed the color masterbatch thermoplastic polymer pellets or granules to the extruder at a second rate that is different from the first rate.
