    • A pottery holding device and method for securely holding a workpiece during rotation and working of the workpiece on a wheelhead of a pottery wheel. The pottery holding device includes a wheelhead member and at least three holding members. The wheelhead member configured for attachment to the wheelhead of a pottery wheel. The at least three holding members and wheelhead member configured to allow selective locking of the at least three holding members in positions about the periphery of a workpiece. The device adapted to securely hold circular, non-circular symmetric and irregular, asymmetric or organic shaped workpieces. The device further adapted to securely hold workpieces in positions and orientations such that the center of the workpieces is aligned with the axis of rotation of the device, and positions and orientations such that the center of the workpieces is spaced from the axis of rotation of the device.

    • An automatic mask peeling apparatus 10 includes: a brushing apparatus 30 for removing solidified plugging slurry attached to the mask 24; an air injection apparatus 36 for injecting, after the removal of the solidified plugging slurry, air from the opposite end face-side of the one end face to raise a folded surplus part of the mask from the one end face; a mask peeling apparatus 50 for holding the part raised by the air injection apparatus 36 to peel the mask 24; and a carrying apparatus 55 for carrying a masked plugging honeycomb structure 200 from the brushing apparatus 30 to the mask peeling apparatus 50. This apparatus can be used to peel a mask 24 which has been used for plugging only the predetermined cells of a masked plugging honeycomb structure 200; the mask 24 having an area larger than the area of the end face of the structure.

    • In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for reproducing the size of a first ceramic ware in the making of a second ceramic ware. In embodiments, the first ceramic ware may be received on a pottery wheel. A hinged pointer may then be presented to a position on the first ceramic ware, where the hinged pointer may include a pointer connected to a supporting structure by way of a hinge. The first ceramic ware may then be removed from the pottery wheel, and material for the making of the second ceramic ware may be placed on the pottery wheel. The process of making the second ceramic ware may then progress, where the making includes sizing the second ceramic ware to the position of the hinged pointer.

    • The aim of the invention is to produce concrete moulded blocks, using a mould which is subjected to a vibrating process. Said mould comprises a frame (FR) and a moulding insert (FE) which is maintained therein. A device comprising receiving elements arranged in said moulding insert (FE) for receiving a displacement sensor (SE) is provided, in addition to an arrangement comprising said device and at least one sensor. The invention discloses advantageous embodiments and arrangements of said receiving elements. The arrangement of the sensor (SE) on the moulding insert (FE) is particularly advantageous and provides an additional displacement variable for relative displacement between the moulding insert and the frame by combining the displacement variables of a sensor (SE) on the moulding insert (FE) and a sensor (SE) on the frame (FR).
