    • Parts which cannot fall because of their dimensions through an opening of a lower tool are separated from a workpiece plate in a cutting press with an immovable support, a coordinate table, two lateral workpiece supports movable parallel to the y-axis and a transverse carriage displaceable in the direction of the x-axis and having clamping elements, and with a central workpiece support of a plurality of articulately connected supporting elements displaceable in the direction of the y-axis so that a discharge opening for the separated part of the workpiece plate is openable or closable, in such a manner that first a cutting tool separates a workpiece part so as to retain at least one connecting web between separating edges of the workpiece plate and the workpiece part located transverse to the direction of movement of the central workpiece support, the workpiece plate and workpiece support being positioned by the coordinate table above the discharge opening, and before opening of the discharge opening the connecting web is removed by displacement of the central workpiece support from the workpiece plate with the aid of a special separating device on the cutting press.

    • Automatic shearing apparatus is provided which includes a shear provided with a shearing blade, a feeding unit for feeding sheet metal to the shear, and at least one movable carrier arranged downstream of the shearing blade. The movable carrier is controlled to receive and store the sheared pieces and then to return them to the feeding unit or, selectively, to cause the sheared pieces to reach a controlling device for sending to a piece discharge area. The feeding unit can be a manipulator, with rectilinear motion perpendicular to the shearing blade, and a rotator, both located upstream of the shearing blade. The manipulator and rotator function to receive, rotate and feed the metal sheets to be sheared, as well as to receive, rotate and refeed to the shear the sheared pieces returned by the movable carrier.

    • Apparatus for feeding platelike workpieces to a machine tool comprises a feed deck adapted to carry a workpiece, a carriage, which carries tongs for gripping the workpiece and is movable in longitudinal and transverse directions to move the workpiece in said directions, a carriage track, which extends in said transverse direction and is mounted on said feed deck to be movable in said longitudinal direction and extends in said transverse direction and is adapted to guide said carriage in said transverse directions, workpiece-supporting elements, which are vertically adjustably mounted on said feed deck and adapted to support a workpiece and arranged in a plurality of rows extending in said transverse direction, a plurality of actuating shafts, each of which is operatively connected to the workpiece-supporting elements of one of said rows and rotatable to vertically adjust the workpiece-supporting elements of said row and is non-rotatably connected to a crank arm, which is operable by a bar, which is rigid with said carriage track. To permit a simple adjustment and a uniform raising and lowering of the workpiece-supporting elements, the workpiece-supporting elements of each row are mounted on at least one vertically adjustable crossbeam, which is operatively connected to one of said actuating shafts by a toggle joint comprising a first lever, which is non-rotatably connected to said actuating shaft, and a second lever which is pivoted near one end to said first lever and near its other end to the associated crossbeam.

    • The apparatus comprises a sheet metal shears at a cutting station which station is provided with a lifting table 13 which is vertically adjustable, is used for cutting off small sections of sheet metal from a sheet and also is used for stacking these sections on a pallet 15. This lifting table extends through a cut-out side wall 5 for the shears and thus permits the shifting of an already piled-up stack 16 away from the shears, and then upwardly so that an adjacent stack 16a may be piled up neatly in spaced apart relation with stacks separated from each other by at least the thickness of the cut-out side wall. The continuing movement of the lifting table 13 after erecting the first stack 16 causes a small drop at the cut-off sections which are placed on the pallet 15, so that an orderly piled-up stack 16a develops. As the height of the stack increases the lifting table is gradually lowered until the predetermined height of the stack is reached.
