    • A nozzle assembly for applying a fluid on a substrate includes a plurality of plates, a first fluid conduit having a first inlet configured and a first discharge orifice configured to discharge a first fluid generally in a first direction, and a second fluid conduit having a second inlet, a second discharge orifice configured to discharge a second fluid generally in a second direction intersecting the first direction and a third discharge orifice. The second fluid acts on the first fluid at the first discharge orifice. A method of applying the fluid on the substrate includes continuously feeding the substrate by the nozzle assembly, discharging, in the first direction, the first fluid from the first discharge orifice onto the substrate, discharging, in the second direction, the second fluid from the second discharge orifice, and discharging, generally in the first direction, the second fluid from the third orifice.

    • An adhesive dispensing system and method are configured to melt adhesive on demand and maintain the adhesive in a liquid state between dispensing cycles. The dispensing system includes a dispensing applicator with a manifold passage, a receiving device including a receiving chamber for holding a small amount of solid adhesive at the dispensing applicator and a first heating device for melting the adhesive on demand, and a second heating device at the manifold to maintain the temperature of the melted adhesive before dispensing. The receiving device is positioned adjacent to or partially nested within a manifold of the dispensing applicator such that the melted adhesive is delivered directly into the dispensing applicator. The second heating device applies heat energy to maintain the adhesive in the manifold passage as a liquid.

    • A nozzle capable of removing a surplus liquid material, which is adhered to outer surfaces of the nozzle and which affects a discharge operation, without undergoing a special process, and a liquid material discharge device provided with the nozzle. The nozzle (1) includes a body (2) having a liquid inflow space, and a discharge tube (4) communicating with the liquid inflow space and extending downwards from the body (2). A liquid removing member (16) is disposed at a lower end of the body (2) in a state laterally surrounding the discharge tube (4), and the liquid removing member (16) includes a groove-like space (15) that is formed between adjacent to of plural surrounding surfaces (10), and that generates capillary force acting in a direction laterally away from the discharge tube (4).
