摘要： A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus using a pilot signal control system is adapted such that a cue signal (51) is recorded in a cue track (50) provided besides a video signal track (52) when a magnetic tape (7) is temporarily stopped during the recording operation and is moved in the backward direction by a predetermined amount, and when the temporary stop is cancelled and the magnetic tape is moved in the forward direction, the cue signal (51) is reproduced and the recording operation is restarted responsive to the reproduced cue signal. Preferably, after cancellation of the temporary stop until restart of the recording operation, control is made such that coincidence of the frequency and phase of the reproduced pilot signal and those of a pilot signal to be recorded is established.

摘要： An image pick-up apparatus having an optical zoom mechanism and an electronic zoom mechanism, wherein the optical zoom mechanism and the electronic zoom mechanism are adjusted in accordance with information on a position and size of an area recognized as an object (a human face). An image pick-up apparatus in which the control gain for restoring the rotating lens barrel to a reference position is increased by static detection of a housing, thereby attaining a compatibility between a high vibration-proofing performance and a high-accuracy origin restoration. A motion vector detection apparatus, in which by making the motion vector detection area movable, a motion vector is detected without any feeling of disorder regardless of the image pattern. An image swing correction apparatus is also disclosed in which the phase of a read clock of a video memory is adjusted in accordance with the result of detection of a time-base error of the video signal, and read out by a clock of regular intervals. The time base of the video signal is thus corrected while at the same time moving the read position of the video memory in accordance with the result of detection of the swing amount of the whole image, thereby correcting the swing of the whole image.

摘要： Disclosed is a vaccine which has a high therapeutic effect on mycoplasma infection and is highly safe. For the purpose of developing effective therapeutic methods for mycoplasma infection, mycoplasma-mimic particles which are effective as a vaccine for mycoplasma infection are provided, and also provided are bacterium-mimic particles including common bacteria. Bacterium-mimic particles such as mycoplasma-mimic particles can be provided by producing liposome particles in which a lipid antigen specific to a pathogenic bacterium such as mycoplasma is contained as a liposome-constituting lipid component. The administration of the mycoplasma-mimic particles enables the induction of a potent immunological activity in living bodies. The mycoplasma-mimic particles can be used as an excellent vaccine for the prevention or treatment of mycoplasma infection.

摘要： In a hierarchical data storage system that supplies data, on request, from a library apparatus in which the data are stored on removable media and from a high-speed cache device, the requests are analyzed to select the most frequently requested data and predict the system's least busy periods. During each predicted least busy period, data are copied from the library apparatus to the cache device, if necessary, so that all of the selected most-frequently-requested data are stored in the cache device. Data are not transferred from the library apparatus to the cache device at other times, thereby avoiding unnecessary cache replacements and improving the efficiency with which requests can be served.
